In today’s weather forecast, we are talking about a rare and spectacular northern lights display expected to light up skies across much of the United States. tonight. A powerful geomagnetic storm is underway, allowing the aurora to be visible as far south as the central Plains, Ohio Valley, and even parts of the Deep South. Skies will need to be clear and dark, so head away from city lights for the best chance to see it. Infrastructure impacts, like power grid issues, cannot be ruled out. This is one of the most widespread aurora events in years, get all the latest details in today’s forecast.

I saw rainbows every day in Hawaii. Kauai.
My wife had a 1st gen one in the mid to late 90s.
There were many pictures posted last night from southern NH.
Several within a couple miles from where I live.
Yet when I went out at about 9:30 NOTHING.
maybe tonight if it is clear.
My sister sent me some amazing pics from WY. Green and red aurora’s.
How do I photo share? Tiny Pic is no longer there apparently.
Fear-porn peddlers gonna fear-porn, no matter what they say out of the other side of their mouths.

Huh? What are u talking about? Nobody in the OKC media is pushing doom and gloom over Northern lights. Nobody in the entire country has pushed fear porn. Have u been enjoying ur own “northern lights”?

Here in N. Central Utah and saw what I thought was the glow from a moon rise over the Western Uintas. Didn’t go back out to check on it later but have seen several pic’s from last night.

There has been too much violence. Too much pain. But I have an honorable compromise. Just walk away. Give me your pump, the oil, the gasoline, and the whole compound, and I’ll spare your lives. Just walk away and we’ll give you a safe passageway in the wastelands.

I’ve seen one really spectacular aurora in my life, but mostly it’s overcast when a good one happens.

We’re COMPLETELY overcast here. It’s VERY frustrating.
I thought people would be interested in seeing a good light show if they could.
The only thing worse than the fear porn is the naysayers who like to dump on something innocuous.
I have no idea.
I just thought people wouldn’t want to miss a good aurora.
I wish we weren’t going to but the clouds are way too thick.
I have never seen it.
So, last night around 9:30 I look at my phone and see all these FB post with pictures all right around my house from about an hour before. By the time I looked it had clouded over.
Yup. Had a beautiful one here on Oahu this morning. It’s the rainy season ..... Many more to come .... 😊
