You have TDS. I think it is terminal. Are you on suicide watch?
Govt has screwed up the health care industry. The best plan is to get the government out of the health business. Let the market dictate.
So, you believe his “wealthy friends” outweigh his concern for the rest of the citizens he serves?
Name one thing that both the gov’t and the private sector produce where the gov’t does it better? The gov’t has no reason to be in the insurance business. They have no incentive to be efficient, which is why we have $600 hammers and $900 toilet seats in gov’t projects.
Before there can be affordable health care, lawyers must be prevented from suing doctors and hospitals et al
Greedy lawers in general are the most significant burden on the American health care system.
Unless someone proposes a plan, Thune should agree to an one year extension of aca subsidies in order to end the government shutdown.
In the blue part of Ohio, people think they were given something of value in Obamacare. I know some that use it and like it. The equation is simple: Do you use it? Do you like it?
The GOP has long promised repeal and replace. The GOP has done what it usually does, nothing. It’s my opinion that this will cost at the ballot box.
The GOP’s strategy is dismantling the ACA. That’s a good plan. We were better off without the destruction the ACA wrought on the USA.
Trump has always advocated for allowing the purchase of healthcare insurance across state lines.
At the time of the enactment of Obamacare there were about 16 million people uninsured. Most people had insurance through their employer. Instead of devising a bandaid to cover this small group of people the GOP Congress did nothing. As soon as the Democrats got back into power they passed Obama are without even one Republican vote.
So who’ fault is Obamacare. I have always blamed the Republicans.
That said government is the entirety of healthcare finance through various insurance programs, tax rules that enable group health insurance, and regulation requiring charity care.
That ain't going away, so should the GOP and conservatives beat the Rats to the punch and advocate for a single payor Medicare for all healthcare finance system. Diffuse the affordability issue heading into the midterms and have control of the construction of plan instead of the Democrats?
The GOP and conservatives cannot advance MAGA without winning elections, and ignoring affordability is a great way to get swept out of power in the midterms .
He is almost daily having very public meetings with pharmaceutical CEOs announcing plans to bring down drug prices.
And the real fallacy in your complaint is that government won’t lower Healthcare costs. Government is increasing Healthcare costs with over-regulation.
Yes. The GOP had an alternative plan to Obamacare that you could know what was in it without passing it. Look it up.
The Gummit needs to get out of healthcare not in it.
I have read they have a few plans.
They were corrupted by the healthcare lobbyists. Remember all the GOP’s symbolic votes to repeal Obamacare? They ended as soon as we gave them the majority. Then, they pivoted to full Obamacare support.
No offense, but best not to confuse the GOPe with the once upon a time GOP. The GOPe took off in the Bush Sr. admin and it hasn’t really changed, JMO. We got $40,000,000,000,000 reasons by the end of the year to prove it. And that’s only one of ten of thousands of pieces of pork. AKA the Uniparty!
Healthcare is a minefield. No matter what reform you make, nobody will be happy and the prices will still be insane. If you reform it, you own it as Repubs, but for Dems, they can reform it with obamacare and they’re never held accountable but it doesn’t work the same way for Repubs.
A couple of easy ‘wins’ to bring healthcare prices down - kick off as many illegals as possible. Ban coverage of tranny surgeries which cost insane amounts of money and are covered by many insurance plans.
What was the purpose of Obamacare? What was the result?
I have a quick and easy one. Remove the contribution limit for an HSA. My premiums are set to go to about 50K/year. I rather just put that into an HSA than pay some insurance company for some theoretical coverage.
