Nearly Unanimous, Voters Say Cost of Living, Taxes and Economy Are ‘Very Important’ to Their Vote
Rutgers Today ^ | November 3, 2025 | Ashley Koning

Voters who are 65 or older are especially passionate about health care – nearly all say access to quality, affordable health care is important to their vote (97%). Nine in 10 voters ages 50 to 64 say the same (90%). Eighty-three percent of voters 50 to 64 and 92% of likely voters 65 and older say a candidate’s stance on improving the response plan for natural disasters is important to their vote.

The state’s youngest and oldest voters consider a candidate’s position on housing affordability more important to their vote than those in between. Ninety-two percent of voters ages 18 to 34 and 92% of those 65 and older say this is “very” or “somewhat” important to their vote.

“Affordability concerns take center stage in this election,” said Ashley Koning, an assistant research professor and director of the Eagleton Center for Public Interest Polling at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. “Voters across the board have continually expressed how important this issue is to them and maintain they would be more likely to vote for a candidate who will address affordability and cost of living in different aspects of life in New Jersey.”

About 8 in 10 say they are more likely to vote for a candidate who supports policies that help family caregivers provide care to their older family members and loved ones (42% “much,” 39% “somewhat”); supports funding Stay New Jersey, a property tax relief program for older homeowners (53% “much,” 27% “somewhat”); and protects funding for Medicaid to ensure long-term care services are available for low-income seniors and people with disabilities…

Seventy-three percent are more likely to vote for a candidate who supports affordable housing options (50% “much,” 23% “somewhat”).

So they voted to raise the cost of living and lower their standard of living.

2022 is the first midterm since 1934 in which the president's party did not lose any state legislative chambers or incumbent senators and the Democrats did so under a DNC president after winning in Nevada, Arizona, and Pennsylvania.

Things were looking good for Biden in '22.

“ We will give you free everything”... and Free sells with Voters who are struggling...

When we keep giving free stuff to the underclass from college to healthcare to groceries to housing, at some point the white people are going to say, "I'd like some free stuff too!"

And this is how Mamdani won.

Yep as I posted on another FR thread tonight: ““It is the economy stupid” still applies...inflation up 20% over the last 4 years by “official govt. numbers”...more like 25%-28% if using 1980 official govt. # calculations, and wages up only 18.5% over that time. People usually vote based on their “personal economy”.”

Yet we always seem to find the money for the gibs that the underclass get.

We're now in the final stages of Rome where the populace decides to loot as much as they can from the public treasury before it all collapses.

Get while the gettin's good!

Apparently voters don’t care about the moral fiber of who they choose. In NJ voters voted for a woman who violated the honor code at the Naval academy, shamelessly enriched herself with inside stock trades while in Congress and appointed her own children to the Naval academy. In Virginia a sadistic man who joyfully announced his willingness to not only kill his opponents but their children as well was elected Attorney General. The voters deserve what they selected.

If so, they voted opposite their own stated interests. They voted for higher taxes, higher costs, and expensive lousy Healthcare. The headlines (I have seen several exactly the same) do not match the real story. It’s a false choice bit of propaganda. It’s being repeated over and over in unison. That means it was Beltway produced propaganda.
