Revenge is a dish best served cold. In this case, near absolute zero levels of cold.
Reminds me of a couple “Frasier” episodes.
I’m good with revenge, although in this instance it might’ve been a bit harsh.
When I was a little kid, I got bullied. From that perspective, I understand the desire for revenge.
As I grew, the bullying stopped. It was as much the change in my response to bullying as it was a change in the world.
From that perspective…this guy was nuts.
Get over it. Move on. Do better.
I bet he played doing that over and over in his head for fifty years.
A long time to wait
Learn to let things go.
In South Dakota, a jockstrap is often worn to keep the noggin warm.
Um, is it just me or does the punishment seem a bit extreme for the alleged jockstrap incident?
Rather than shoot the bully he should have brought along a dirty jock strap and made the bully pull it over his own face.
There was one particular person in my high school who bullied me. I hated him. Fifty years later, I have a great professional career, a hot wife, cool cars and money in the bank. I recently checked him out on Facebook and learned that he works as a waiter in a restaurant in Florida. Sonehow, I feel no need to exact any revenge.
I love a happy ending.
Well, this was a little extreme.
Maybe just do the classic flaming bag of dog poo on the front porch thing. Then he’d still be free.
That’s what I call holding a grudge. I thought prison inmates held grudges from the street, but in my 25 years of working in NY State’s prison system, 50 years takes the cake.
This was a Fargo episode.
FAFO
“High School teacher and track coach Norman Johnson”
Perhaps old Norman never abused another kid. Or maybe he used those positions to put kids under his power so he could bully with impunity. If the latter, as I suspect, it’s a shame it took 50 years to catch up to him.
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:17-21
He should have contacted me. I could have advised him of more subtle means with the same outcome that worked for me.
I was never bullied in school by anyone.
And I never bullied anyone.
Hard to relate to this story...looks like plain ‘ol murder by a psycho.
