Guy Fieri’s missing tequila mystery: Wild new details emerge after million-dollar heist Fake trucking companies used spoofed GPS signals to steal two semi-trucks full of tequila

Guy Fieri was shocked to learn that two truckloads of his Santo Tequila had gone missing. Fieri co-founded the tequila company with musician Sammy Hagar.

In an episode of "60 Minutes" — which aired Oct. 5 on CBS — the Food Network star and his company’s CEO shared more information about how an international crime group pulled off a highway heist, stealing two semi-trucks filled with tequila valued at $1 million.

The "Diners, Drive-In and Dives" host explained the president of his company called him with the news — and his immediate concern was the safety of the drivers.

"I said, ‘Elaborate on lost.’ He says, ‘Well, they disappeared.’ I said, ‘Well, wait, wait, wait, is this a hijacking?’ I said, ‘Are the drivers OK?’ I said, ‘Is this--?’ ‘Cause all my mind goes to is ’Goodfellas.' That's what I'm thinking is happening," he explained.

More than 24,000 bottles of tequila went missing in November 2024, when two trucks transporting them to the Santo Tequila warehouse in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, were stolen. The tequila had been transported from Mexico to Texas, then loaded into two trucks bound for the warehouse.

Seems like some trackers placed in various cases would be a good thing to have - but that would require some honest warehouse folks...

WHICH LIKELY ISN’T THE CASE in this situation.

“the trucking company, hired by their logistics provider, had outsourced the job to two other trucking companies.”

this is pretty much how ALL car-hauling companies operate, regardless of whether they claim they don’t outsource/subcontract ...

Had to read into it to find Fieri was partnered with Sammy Hagar on this and they both got ripped off.

You just know that truck thief was keeping it under the speed limit.

Guy was skeptical about the partnership. Sammy said "Only time will tell if we stand the test of time".

That's when Guy took him to Flavor Town.

Really though, this wasn't Hagar's first rodeo marketing a brand of alcohol. He grew his restaurant's house brand into the internationally known 'Cabo Wabo' back in 2007 and made 80 million off of it in one fell swoop.

This article tells of that and his getting other brands off the ground. Last year I saw him on a news program showing off his personal vineyard and wine cellar. I get the impression that he's scraping along pretty well after helping out that little band who's singer ran off the rails.

Unfortunately Guy didn’t throw Denutbag out of one of his restaurants. I’d like to think only due to lack of an opportunity.

What an amazing life Sammy has had, and he’s still going. Long time fan, going back to his days with Montrose.

Somewhat same with Guy Fieri, another guy who took his passions and turned them into an empire.
