Why no eyes in the sky ?
Thomas Crooks flew his own drone at Butler before he took his shot at Trump.
I heard something similar. The police were there, too.
So, just like the Trump event in Butler, there were at least two security teams there.
And, just like Butler, an assassin still had access to a roof and shot from there.
Why didn't they check the roof, guard the roof, or position guards on the roof?
Makes you wonder, if it's not an inside job...
When security is provided by different sources, maybe they don't cooperate enough, or they miscommunicate, or they rely on the other team too much.
And maybe security gets too comfortable in some places, like nothing would happen in Butler, PA, and Orem, UT.
And maybe they rely too much on show of force, as if their presence alone is enough to thwart an assassination. But, as we can see, that's not the case.
Pay for it?
A hobbyist, or kid with a drone would have done it for fifty bucks. Who are you kidding?
There’s a million people with drones out there, just wishing someone would ask them to use it for something like this.
Not looking up after Butler is indefensible.
Not looking up is indefensible, absolutely. But people are not conditioned to do it unless they’re trained to do so. It’s a bit of a blind spot (no pun intended). I never really did it until I worked in LE. And my supervisors got me used to doing it.

Great question!
So who are you saying is at fault?
Who should have hired a kid with a drone for fifty bucks?
Do you believe the federal government or the university should have been overseeing and funding Charlie's security?
No, I do not.
Kirk is the founder of Turning Point USA, for God sakes, they couldn’t afford a couple spotters?
No, the USG should not provide security for private engagements.
Also, do you believe the shooter disassembled the rifle, put it in his backpack, jumped down from the roof, ran into the woods, re-assembled the rifle and placed it it a towel, for the LEO’s to find?
You can’t break down a Mauser like that, in mere seconds.
This entire story is falling apart fast.
So it's Charlie's fault, because he has infinite funding and could have hired forty more security guards. Thanks for clarifying that.
So you don't think the guy jumping off the roof seconds after the shooting was the shooter?
Don’t put words in my mouth, I never attached blame to anyone.
Go grind your axe on someone else.
Billionaires are tight wadded assholes. Take St Jude’s, they guilt trip middle class strapped for cash to make contributions when one oligarch could finance them easily.
You appeared to want to blame someone.
After the Trump assassination attempt, some of us saw a major flaw in how these events are secured. Lessons should have been learned.
This murderer pulled off the same operation, just months later. I’d say there’s a few questions to be asked.
TPUSA had a responsibility to secure the area, it was their show.
Again, a couple kids with drones would have spotted this guy on the roof, and shut down the show, prior to any shooting.
Cast blame anywhere you like, but this was easily preventable.
Who would hire the "couple kids with drones?"
Who hired Kirk’s 6 personal security/bodyguards?
I would imagine an event coordinator would be at the top of the list, then delegate from there.
Probably Charlie.
“3 drones
3 people to fly the drones.
3 people to monitor what the drones see.
A team to respond to what the monitors see.”
-
Why 3? This was a small event. One drone could easily cover that area.
No response team needed, if a shooter is spotted, shut down the event immediately, secure the target(s) on stage, done.
There’s a drone club in almost every college community, they would have done it for Big Macs & fries.
