Archaeologists have uncovered ruins in Israel they believe once housed the Ark of the Covenant, a sacred, gold-covered chest described in the Bible.
>>>
While the fate of the Ark remains a mystery, it vanishes from the biblical record before the Babylonian sack of Jerusalem in 586 BC.
Now, a team working at the ancient biblical site of Shiloh has unearthed a stone structure that appears to match the dimensions and orientation of the Tabernacle described in the Bible.
>>>
Dr Stripling now believes his team may have uncovered the very gate where Eli died, CBN reported.

First appearance of "Shiloh" in the Torah:
Genesis 49:10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

The Philistines stole the Ark from Shiloh but quickly gave it back when havoc overtook their land.

They should be digging in that warehouse where it was put.

I usually catch that kind of stuff, but I didn’t even think to read the title that way.
Probably because it’s from the Daily “dumpster dive” Mail. Always tricky headlines.
I thought the info was interesting, but I suppose it’d be a tad of a letdown for anyone expecting to find the Ark. 🤨

Dr Scott Stripling, director of the Tel Shiloh dig, said: 'We've uncovered a monumental building from the Iron I period that matches the biblical dimensions of the Tabernacle. The structure is oriented east-west and divided in a 2:1 ratio, just as described in scripture.' Ping.

I don't see anything in the Scriptures to indicate that the Tabernacle at Shiloh was anything more than the tent used by the Israelites in the wilderness. It wasn't until the 1st Temple was built by Solomon that it had a permanent structure:
"Now when the king dwelt in his house, and the Lord had given him rest from all his enemies round about, the king [David] said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells in a tent.” And Nathan said to the king, “Go, do all that is in your heart; for the Lord is with you.” (2 Samuel 7:1-3)

Impressive, though it looks to me to be a stone or concrete representation of the tabernacle tent, with the slanted pillars imitating the ropes around the Tabernacle that held the tent roof down.
