Archaeologists have uncovered ruins in Israel they believe once housed the Ark of the Covenant, a sacred, gold-covered chest described in the Bible.

While the fate of the Ark remains a mystery, it vanishes from the biblical record before the Babylonian sack of Jerusalem in 586 BC.
Now, a team working at the ancient biblical site of Shiloh has unearthed a stone structure that appears to match the dimensions and orientation of the Tabernacle described in the Bible.

Finding a garage isn’t finding the car.
They’re digging in the wrong place!

I thought it was in a crate somewhere in a govt. warehouse.
Ping.
"Now when the king dwelt in his house, and the Lord had given him rest from all his enemies round about, the king [David] said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells in a tent.” And Nathan said to the king, “Go, do all that is in your heart; for the Lord is with you.” (2 Samuel 7:1-3)
Exactly.

**..the king [David] said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells in a tent.”..**
Good job sir! I was about to look that passage up and post it.
