-snip-

Russia and the USA do almost no business together."

He added, "Let’s keep it that way, and tell Medvedev, the failed former President of Russia who thinks he’s still President, to watch his words. He’s entering very dangerous territory!”

Trump is working hard to break up cohesion among the BRICS nations. He needs to get the “I” out of the coalition.
The BRICS nations want to create a dollar free trade zone. They are funding Russia’s war in Ukraine via oil purchases. None of the countries buy much in the way of US exports.
India shouldn’t be buying Russian oil or military equipment. Among the BRICS, there still isn’t a big internal consumer market to exploit yet.

Trump is upset because Putin told him that if or when sanctions are reduced or ended, that western companies that left will not be returning or competing in Russia with the home nation’s companies. There will also be no NGOs or other organizations allowed if normalization of relations occurs.

Trump wanted to bring US Corporate interests (CIA) back into Russia and undercut home grown companies.

Once Trump understood that normalization of relations would not give the US a financial footing inside Russia, he has cvhanged his tune.

Now Trump has been reduced to threatening the world. Only China nad Russia have stood up to Trump’s threats. China simply cut automative, military and rare earths/magnets off and Trump capitulated, but Trump never STFU.

Advocating for Russia and China over President Trump is a losing hand.

As much as you despise Trump, you have to give him credit for having American troops training Ukrainians.

President Trump is training some of the Ukrainians in Germany, this unit last trained Ukrainians under President Trump, in Ukraine itself.

“The ceremony signified the transition of mission responsibility from Task Force Independence, 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Pennsylvania Army National Guard to Task Force Saber, 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Tennessee Army National Guard.
This marks the 278th ACR’s second deployment in support of JMTG-U.
The unit previously supported the mission in 2018 when it was based in Yavoriv, Ukraine.”

Why do so many threads involving President Trump seem to turn to an dislike of Trump, or worse?

The self loathing is palpable. Some folks just hate their country and want us defeated by the CCP and their allies in Moscow and Iran.

25 years in sales. Doing business with India and Indians is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. And they will pirate your IP as quickly as the Chinese. Super unreliable supply chain element.

And the H1B program needs to end.

Since 2022 the other countries outside the west have seen firsthand the dangers of dealing with the west. Sanctions, frozen/stolen assets, threats. They are freeing themselves of The Donald’s imperial overreaching. In fact, Brics is ascendant due to the frozen assets and sanctions against Russia.

China is standing by Russia and the Russian Far East is having a miracle growth spurt; India and China have set aside differences and are not going to fight each other with you have the US telling the world the next war we are going to start, e.g., in in China.

The world is banding together outside the US Trade Dollar. To the American economy, the loss of revenue from USD based trade is like losing a million employees for revenue purposes.

When someone is DEAD WRONG and their actions can lead to getting me killed, I have no problem pointing out such behavior.

I am not advocating for Russia, but rather pointing out thaat Trump has turned into a freaking liar on so many issues and with so many countries that everyday Americans will pay a high price in the future.

Pax America may just about have run it’s course. Trump is the cherry or Nero fiddling while the place burns.

"They are freeing themselves of The Donald’s imperial overreaching."

As opposed to the perennial doormats that we were under Obama-Biden?

I'll take Trump's "imperial overreach" any day of the week.

It’s us that tries hard to export to them, specifically weapon systems.

We overplayed and oversold our hand with the sanctions. Russia isn’t Trinidad or Guatemala.

1.) our economic significance on the world stage has been diminishing since the 60s when it once was over 40% of the global GDP. Today it’s half that.

https://imageio.forbes.com/blogs-images/mikepatton/files/2016/02/Capture.jpg?format=jpg&height=600&width=1200&fit=bounds

2.) the advent of China changes everything. In fact, as we sanction, they come in behind us and swoop up the market as in Russia where you now see Chinese cars and other goods and services once from the EU, US or Japan. That market share for our business is gone, forever.

3.) Russia don’t sell plastic vibrators on Amazon. They sell gas and oil, titanium, food, fertilizer. Things that fill needs, not wants. Russia’s share of the global market in many of these areas is significant, it is difficult, if not impossible to cut them out entirely without causing major problems for others that rely on them.

For example, 25% of the global wheat production: https://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/bitstream/handle/document/101591/ssoar-russanald-2024-318-melkadze_et_al-Russias_Wheat_Exports_Recent_Structural.pdf?sequence=1&isAllowed=y&lnkname=ssoar-russanald-2024-318-melkadze_et_al-Russias_Wheat_Exports_Recent_Structural.pdf

Our sanctions are marginally effective and us trying to clamp down only makes things worse for us and our allies. Why?

China will see growth, filling the void we create. Go to Russia today and Chinese cars are everywhere. Instead of EU, Japanese and US brands, you simply have the Chinese fill the void.

The harder we push, the more we push nations like India and Brazil towards Russia and China. I think some folks here are going to be surprised who India chooses if we push hard enough.

,,, that comment I put in my post - “India’s economy is dead”, I copied and pasted from the lead article. Now it’s not there. Don’t know what’s going on but I’m aware, just as emerging markets funds are that India’s pumping. That’s why I queried the comment.

he knows Russia cannot be trusted when it comes to China, or anything else, for that matter.

Sadly, when Nixon sent the Enterprise to the Bay of Bengal to threaten India, the Soviets sent one or more Nuke Subs to give it pause. Also, every time the US has voted against India in the security Council, it is the Russians who vetoed those resolutions. The US also armed Pakistan against India for decades, actually causing India to buy Russian arms. Look up your history. India was in Americas Camp till 1965. Even allowed the CIA to put stuff in the Himalayas. But suddenly the US started loving and arming crazy Islamist Miltary Dictators. This support, coupled with an arms embargo on India, directly led to Pakistan invading India in 1965.

Now Trump dines in the WH with another Islamist Military Dictator for nominating him for a Nobel Peace Prize, the same Prize that Freepers mock, for being awarded to Obama.

Trump says that American Companies will explore for oil in Pakistan and "sell oil to India". Do you think that China which is owed Billions and billions by Pakistan, would allow this?

So from an Indian POV, who is more trustworthy?
