I honestly think to get the OBBB passed he's had to give up certain positions.
How else do you explain it?
The endorsement of Lindsey Graham, too? The resumption of aid to Ukraine?
It's all very odd and timely.
I think Trump has (had) a lot invested in getting OBBB done.
Think about it. It was his signature bill. They held it hostage and now you see why...
There is (was) a lot at stake.
Would he have traded Epstein list?
I’ll let you speculate but who knows
A lot of crazy stuff happening
I saw Republicans doing what they always do, failing to join forces, and work together to get President Trump's agenda passed, and your favorite Senator voted against it. They did it in his first term. Nothing's changed with Congress. It's still full of a bunch of self-serving assholes.
It needed Vance to break a tie so 3 GOPers voted against it
Let’s remember that. It’s important.
Yes, if you are correct, Rand Paul helped them hold the bill hostage so they could blackmail him on this stuff.
Wrong that wasn’t his motive and you know it
However, the other senators ....
I know no such thing.
I only know he helped hold up the bill which facilitated the blackmail that he most certainly was not ignorant of.
Graham definitely held BBB hostage on behalf of the Neocons to get Trump to waste more weapons and money on Ukraine and to cool his approach toward normalizing relations with Russia. This might delay Russia’s victory by a few months but the cost will be more lives lost and much more treasure wasted.
Get over yourself.
What is taking place is the undoing of Trump....losing a ton of political capital on this..
You’ve been roasted. FWIW.
What is taking place has nothing to do with political capital. He does not need us anymore. Doesn’t need popular support. Doesn’t need to explain anything. Doesn’t need anyone to show up at his rallies
What is taking place is the guy that those people voted for is doing what he said he would do. Those people are impatient, watching too much media news. Easily swayed. Not stepping back. Not getting back to work. Untrusting.
And he knew they would do that.
This is not clintonobamabush wanting to know what ideas float. Thats over. He does not operate like that
He will do what he said he was going to do
When people think that happens immediately they are low on not just trust but critical thinking and common sense.
🤡😂
Economically, Rand Paul was correct in holding up this bill.
“ Economically, Rand Paul was correct in holding up this bill.”
There’s another thread on this page about how gen z doesn’t know finances. One comment points out that boomers are not necessarily great
We are approaching 40 T in debt. People say that a bill that saves 6 billion versus 40 billion is going to fix that.
They trust a doctor - the worst money managers second only to politicians- turned-politician who has never met a republican idea he hasn’t loathed over a Wharton educated self made honest billionaire former president with stellar deal making bona fides and international monetary expertise and foreign affairs successes
People here trust republicans way too much
“Let’s remember that. It’s important.”
“President Ronald Reagan famously used the phrase “half a loaf is better than none.”
I agree with Reagan on this. Trump got what he needed. He got his immigration policy through. He got a permanent tax cut through. He got some of his investment strategy in America through. Everything else is congress making sausage.
Thank you for stating what lot of folks are missing.
President Trump wasn’t being held “hostage” over anything. This drama involved a bunch of clowns in Congress holding each other hostage.
Morally, Rand opposed the bill, an evil, enslaving, unforced error.
