What were all the sirens about Thursday night in Destin?

Destin Ping!................
AVIATION PING!..................
Bound to happen. These flights are continuous every few minutes taking tourists on quick sightseeing tours. Usually about 8 of these are flying from sunup to sundown in Panama City and the Destin area.
That looks like an awful small helicopter to have 4 people on board.
And it must be very rare to walk away from a helicopter crash.
“a touring helicopter crash on the runway”
I’m guessing it was close to the ground when the incident happened.
Kinda rare to walk away from a helicopter crash.
It was Destined.
Glad to hear everyone got out alive.
I wanted to take a helicopter tour in Hawaii - not a single member of my family would go.
After that crash in NYC that killed an entire family I wouldn’t either..................
Unless there was a mechanical failure, I’m guessing that it was overloaded................
Robinson R44. Lycoming piston engine powered 4 seater. Developed from the 2 seat R22.
They didn’t want to autorotate into molten lava.
Thursday? Hey everyone, stay off the helicopters tomorrow night!
I see one of those just like that at St. Augustine airport all the time.....it looks like somebody built it in their garage. 😏
Last Week.............
If I have to have a helicopter crash, I want mine to end up like this one.
How do you NOT have fatalities with a helicopter crash?
Kudos to this amazing pilot!

You got something against aircraft made of Papier-mâché? /sarc
This isn’t the first time:
My dad told me a story about being on a night flight in a Bell UH-1 “Huey” in Vietnam that experienced an engine failure.
The pilot told everyone to make sure they were strapped in because he was going to perform the autorotation maneuver.
The pilot spotted a soccer field and away they went, setting down as pretty as you please.
My dad said after they set down the pilot acted like he did nothing more than park a car....cool as a cucumber, no big deal.
Dad said that was one experience he wouldn’t care to repeat...EVER. 😏
