Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have launched a sweeping strike on Iran following months of attempted, and seemingly failed, nuclear negotiations between the Trump administration and Tehran, but according to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the U.S. was not involved in the strikes.
"Tonight, Israel took unilateral action against Iran," Rubio said in a statement Thursday night. "We are not involved in strikes against Iran and our top priority is protecting American forces in the region.
"Israel advised us that they believe this action was necessary for its self-defense," he added.

Trump and Rubio - we see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.
We did not know. We are not involved.
US milage may vary. Israel is another of America’s Proxies. They are fulling integrated into the US economy with high tech. Much of the leading medical and tech comes from US companies who have plants or facilities in Israel. Without US economic cross-over this small nation could not exist.
Whatever you think, Israel will not surrender and will always exist. Have you read the Bible?
We just let 21 million people into our country.
Does anyone actually think there were not bad state actors in the group?
This MIGHT be different, this time.
You mean sanctity of borders, like border between Ukraine and Russia? Didn’t mean sxxite for Putin.
prayers up for Israel - success on this woould make the world a safer place changing the world immeasurably.
If they did this against our advice, good luck on your own this time Israel.
We just had a propane and fuel oil delivery today.
We weren’t expecting action tonight particularly, but the handwriting was on the wall between how the Middle East has been becoming more volatile and the US is imploding.
The spin from Israel moving to targeted assassination of top Iranian military leaders a variation on the exploding pagers scheme involving Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Perhaps this is hoped to prevent Iran’s military response and compel its civilian government into submission.
history will record thatIran had an offramp - they chose to play games
It's possible. Trump dismissed four pro-Israel officials earlier this month. Netanyahu may be acting on his own now.
Israel has already largely defeated the various iranian cats paws of hamass, hezbollah, and the houthis are not a big threat. So this is Israel trying to stop the mullahs from a nuke that they promised they would launch at Israel to murder every Jew in the place so their stupid mahdi will come up out of his well. Cries.
Israel is in a really tough place. This is direct war between Israel and Iran.
Iran will next launch every capable missile and drone at Israel. It’s going to be a very long 24 hours. Probably, enough of those will get through to murder random women and children. Iran doesn’t aim well. All Israelis are in their bomb shelters, but a direct hit will still get you.
Then what? I predict a daily bombing campaign by Israel of everything potentially strategic to the regime. Which begs the question: Will Israel attack very vulnerable oil infrastructure, especially Kharg Island? If so, then Israelnis aiming at society wide destruction to put the Iranians on their heels for decades. And it’ll be one helluva environmental disaster.
You can’t stand idly by while your suicidal and murderous neighbor builds a bomb on his property big enough to take both of you out. You have to stop him.
WOW. It had to come to this, given who the mullahs are. Tragic. Necessary.
It was foolish for us to have left those religious nutjobs alone for so many decades.
Amen.
Smart move.
“...economic cross-over this small nation could not exist”. Are you sad, Mr. “fulling” Language Expert?
Of course it was coordinated.
Not just leaving them alone, but giving them billions of $$$$
Darned Jimmy Carter.
He could have clipped this all in the Bud if he would have had the CIA take out Khomenei.
