Also, Carlos probably got the vax, and still got covid.
Gotta get ‘covid’ in the headlines again. Useless tests remain.
It do get pretty dry here in Tejas.
I have not seen Santana in concert. I would love to if I get the chance.
Dehydration and Covid? Whenever I see two excuses, I wonder if there’s a further back story.
I dont’ know for certain, but it’s possible they do it to keep up with property taxes. Many live in quite expensive homes with high property taxes. Carlos, from California, if in a big house may be on the hook for hundreds of thousands a year.
That’s probably right.
Retire, Carlos, You earned it!................
Because it’s the life they know. And it’s what they love. Deep Purple was planning on calling it a day in 2020. They were going to release 1 last album (Whooosh, very good album), give it a good tour and hang it up. Then of course the world turned off. And after a few months off they all realized, they had no idea what to do with their lives if they weren’t touring. So now they release another album last year (=1 also very good) and have all pretty much agreed they’ll retire when they’re too decrepit to do anything else. When you’re doing the thing you love most in the world retirement just isn’t that exciting. I mean really what’s Carlos supposed to do after he retires? Travel?!
Two reasons
They like money and they like touring
The discredited and denounced PCR test for ChinaVirus2019 is still being used…everyone is positive.
“still don’t get why artists in their 70’s and 80’s(Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney) still tour.”
They like it. It’s what they do. Musicians traditionally have continued to play as they age. Of course they could continue recording and stop touring but many like to keep touring based on interviews I’ve seen. They are usually not as good as they were in their prime but that’s life.
Carlos had a previous dehydration incident a year or so back. Sometimes people get focused on things and forget to drink and hydrate. It can be a problem.
I think I’ll drink some water. :-)
I’ve heard Jagger describe how much preparation he puts in before a concert, it’s pretty impressive. I think he does it as much because it keeps him active and healthy as much as anything, it’s not like he needs the money ;-)
On a note. My Dad is 80 and loves flying. Has been for years. He sold his plane. He lasted one month. Missed and bought another. He said he missed flying and he’s going to fly till his death. 😎
If Santana survived Woodstock, he’ll survive this.
I’ve heard that record contracts in the music industry are written mainly to benefit the corporate record labels, and that artists/musicians make most of their income from live shows.
I think because they love it and it's what they. do. That said being hospitalized for dehydration seems almost a cover story.
Bzz’t!
Avoid clichés like the plague.
I read a few years back Carlos gave his life to Christ. Prior to that his own family said he was quite the jackass.
You are over age five. You should have learned how to drink water by this point.
