Farewell to Life on Earth–International Researchers Estimate Complete Extinction Timeline Linked to Sun’s Increasing Thermal Energy

The thought of Earth’s final day may seem distant, even unreal, but we know it will inevitably happen. Now a group of scientists working for NASA together with researchers from the University of Tōhō in Japan have calculated a timeline for the complete extinction of all life on Earth.

According to this calculations – which have been made possible by advanced mathematical models powered by supercomputers -, survival on planet Earth will be impossible in about 1 billion years, when conditions become too extreme for life as we know it.

So yes, we still have a few more years to go.While the moment arrives, space agencies around the world are launching missions to explore other planets, mainly Mars, with the aim to determine life conditions outside the Earth.

The Sun will end all life on Earth For now, this story may sound like sci-fi. But as time goes by – a lot of time – the Sun will grow in size as it reaches the end of its life as a giant star....

Advance mathematical models have predicted than the Sun expansion will significantly worsen air quality, as Earth temperatures rise. According to these calculations, life on Earth will be impossible by the year 1,000,002,021 – which means there are still 999,999,996 years to go until then.

Although the end is still billions of years away, the Sun is already causing some disturbances. Last year, NASA detected a large number of solar eruptions and coronal mass ejections (CME) which ejected billions of tons of particles and magnetic field towards Earth – resulting in the most intense solar storm in two decades. Solar storms are known to cause changes in the atmosphere, reducing available oxygen. As time goes by, this phenomena will continue...

Is there anything that can be done?

....

Maybe if we all just pay more taxes then we’ll be saved?

In about a half a billion years the sun’s luminosity will increase to the point where life on earth cannot survive. (Check your homowner’s insurance policy to see if a rider for that is included.) In another 4.5 billion years after that, the Sun will be come a red giant and consume the Earth, which will already be toast by then.

One of the reasons for humans to develop intragalactic travel before the Earth becomes toast is to find and be able to move to an Earth-sized planet suitably orbiting a star that has a similar size and age to our Sun today, and is in a nice neighborhood, away from black holes and soon-to-become supernovas.

Oh, and it’s likely the people moving to the new planet will need to have Galactic Van Lines ship along the oxygen from the Earth to unload in the new planet’s atmosphere. That is unless the planet already has photosynthetic lifeforms that have converted CO2 to O2. Depositing some of Earth’s photosynthetic organisms in the oceans of the new planet ahead of time might take a couple billion years or more to produce the needed oxygen.

Dealing with any current tenants of the planet is a separate issue.

Whatever other planet we relocate to, we have to make sure it has no Democrats.

It’s called “The Solar Cycle.”

It’s far more accurate than any of their garbage-in/garbage-out digital “Climate Models,” but up until now they have ignored it because it doesn’t give them the answer they want; global warming.

They must have found a way to fudge the data.

I smell another “hockey stick.”

Paging Michael Mann.

A billion years might sound like a long time, but it’ll be here before we know it.

Watch for plummeting real estate prices along American coastlines in a few billion years.

I remember reading years ago that they expected this in 5 billion years, so this new information is very disturbing.

Wait a sec there! Aren’t we were all going to burn to crisps in a few years because of our oil powered SUVs!?

A good cause for job termination at NASA, cues to DOGE.
Nasa is a cesspool of junkscience, it’s high time it get the chainsaw treatment.

I thought we were to be all be wiped out by climate change in less than five years. If I survive the climate change apocalypse in the next few years, I won’t worry about life extinction in a billion years or so as I don’t expect to be around to see it.
