Nervous travelers have been worrying about taking to the air given the recent airplane crashes in the news.
Even so, one man with aerophobia, or a fear of flying, believes there’s nothing to be afraid of — and he’s on a mission to help others address their concerns.
Brian Morris of Salt Lake City, Utah, created “Flight Deck: Fear Of Flying Flash Cards” to help anxious flyers calm themselves about takeoff procedures and the travel experience.
“In light of the recent flight incidents and accidents, I know firsthand how these events can evoke fear and uncertainty in many individuals,” Morris told Fox News Digital.
Aerophobia affects more than 25 million Americans, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Kinda upset me when we flew from NY to Ca to Hawaii...and everyone clapped when we landed. STG
I stopped flying when I decided that my company wasn’t paying combat pay. Flew after that to the Star Trek convention in Texas when I decided the panic was worth it. Was put next to an astronaut who pulled down the blind, explained every sound we heard and told me that all airline pilots are brain dead. I’ll stick with trains.
Either he has aerophobia or he doesn’t. If he does, I guess the flash cards don’t work.
I prefer to have a parachute and the doors or the back tail gate open, sitting inside a locked up passenger plane with zero flexibility in the situation is a little disturbing.
After you get where you’re going, take off your shoes and your socks then walk around on the rug bare foot and make fists with your toes.
Smoke ‘em if ya got ‘em.
When I was little I got scared just standing on a chair. Now I fly bizjets at 35,000 feet.
It’s not that I’m afraid of flying, it’s only that I’m afraid of screaming while dying while flying.

On my plane yes, on commercial flights, nope.
,,, at 66 years of age all I want is a seat close to a toilet, especially on a long/ultra long haul. In my youger days it was good to get a window seat but now with Airbus having cameras on the tail and under the fuselage you get an idea of what’s outside from the IFE screen. Flying doesn’t concern me but crashing does - as many people say, the chances of that happening are much higher driving to the airport.
I don’t fly mainly because my ears feel like they are going to explode. I’ve tried everything. Nothing worked.
Valium.
Eat lots of nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts, brazil nuts, walnuts). They are rich in natural zinc compounds and that prostate needs. Over time the prostate will shrink to normal size. It will help not have to get up several times during sleep to go to bathroom. And those frequent trips to airplane bathrooms.
,,, good one - thanks!
Drink heavily, everybody knows that.
