(Vanity) Name of new dance style?

Posted on 02/07/2025 4:53:30 PM PST by Jamestown1630

I recently saw a video of a new dance style, sort of a 'street dance' style, like break dancing, but much more 'fluid'.

Does anyone know the name of it? I'm trying to find it again, and can't; it had a particular name, and I'm not sure if the link I saw showed up here on FR, or somewhere else.

Thanks!

It certainly looks like a fun way to get your cardio.

I have watched girls doing shuffle dance.
Probably mankind’s greatest achievement.
It’s clean and sweet.

i visited Myrtle Beach back in March 1990 and while the place was practically a ghost town that month i saw references to the Shag at a lot of places.
A real big deal down there...

Those shuffle videos have been popping up on my YouTube occasionally.
They are definitely Cool.
My niece did something similar on her Cheer Team in. H.S. Very entertaining when done well.

Oh yeah…the theater geek in me loved that! I watched it twice (so far.)

That’s got a little of everything. Fred & Ginger, Judy and Mickey, the Nicholas Brothers, clips from West Side Story, Hello Dolly, It’s a Wonderful Life and then even some more modern stuff.

Thank you for posting that link!

What I first saw was more elegant than that; but it was men, not women, so maybe the men’s moves look different than the females shuffle dancing.

You may be talking about “shuffle dancing” which I find pretty neat. It looks great!
