(Vanity) Name of new dance style?

Posted on 02/07/2025 4:53:30 PM PST by Jamestown1630

I recently saw a video of a new dance style, sort of a 'street dance' style, like break dancing, but much more 'fluid'.

Does anyone know the name of it? I'm trying to find it again, and can't; it had a particular name, and I'm not sure if the link I saw showed up here on FR, or somewhere else.

Thanks!

Shuffledance?

I’m not sure that’s it. This was mostly really complex and fast but very fluid moves, with the legs; not so much with the upper body.

Sometimes the dancer even looks like they’re tilting so much they’re going to tip over, due to the leg movement.

“Shuffledance?”

That is what I was thinking too. One of my Granddaughters does it. Now there is a “cupid shuffledance”.

Sure sounds like Shuffledancing.

That is MUCH more like it; but still not quite. What I saw was still more complex and fluid; maybe it was just a better dancer than this example of Shuffledance:

Fascinating. Couldn’t have done even at the right age.

No, I think posts 5 and 8 are what I’m looking for; I just thought it had a different name.

Thanks to all who responded.

Lol, Yeah my Granddaughter tried to teach me. I couldn’t do it. Takes too much “spring” in the step... :)

Since we’re on the subject, does anyone remember the Carolina Shag? I think these two were and remain the masters:

Thank you for asking about it. I have been fascinated with it since my Granddaughter showed me. Almost like dancing a modern Irish jig. :)

Here is one with even better dancers dancing to Elvis... :)
