Laura Ingalls Wilder did not cross the country in a covered wagon and triumph over wolves, floods, Indians, and malaria to have her life’s work rewritten by Los Angeles green juice yuppies, but here we are. Netflix officially announced a “Little House on the Prairie” reboot is in the works, and we should prepare for the worst.
Both Wilder’s autobiographical book series and the television series that ran from 1974 to 1983 are deeply popular with Americans because they tapped into a pivotal moment in the country’s history — the westward expansion and the settling of the frontier. The story of Pa, Ma, and their three daughters, Mary, Laura, and baby Carrie are delightful and entertaining, but it also captures the challenges and triumphs of pioneer life, showcasing the resilience and resourcefulness that defined the era. It’s a nostalgic window into a time when daily survival required determination and where small victories like seeing your dad bring a rabbit home for supper felt monumental. So it’s not surprising that Netflix would see this beloved content as ripe for ripping off and cashing in on — just disappointing.

I wonder if they'll follow through or abandon the project, now that the steamroller unleashed by POTUS is charging hard. I tire of tuning into a show, only to promptly disengage when a woke scene - totally unnecessary to the story - is thrust in my face. We can all envision the outcome of a woke reimagining of LHotP; it sickens me.
For reference, below is the closing paragraph to the piece:
"If Netflix really wants to take a stab at honoring this cultural touchstone, they should focus on keeping “Little House on the Prairie” a showcase of the American values that built this nation. But if they want to lecture us on why Westward expansion was a racist mistake, they can take “Little House” from my cold, dead hands."
“Please don’t scalp me, evil pioneer”
Laura laughs maniacally.
In the netflix production, one of the sisters will actually be a transvestite, one will be a dyke and the third will be Black.
Guessing they won’t do a segment on the Indians, huh, native Americans, killing my great... grandparents, setting their house on fire as the two little sisters were hiding under the trundle bed. Thankfully, the neighbors saw the smoke and saved the girls.
I didn’t read it yet but didn’t the estate sell the rights to these money grubbing anti Americans?
And Pa will be a hapless idiot, while Ma takes care of everything.
They’ll work a homo into the story, just as was done with Anne of Green Gables.
What a great show it was as a kid.
It is a little corny watching it in my 50s :), but corny is great for little kids!
They don’t need to be dealing with the most difficult adult questions and sistuations at their age.
And they don’t need the most difficult, complex answers at their age.
Good is better than bad and will win in the short or long run.
That’s as good a message is there is for young ones.
And Lil House was great at getting that point across.
I will say, for shows on Netflix about America's westward expansion, the limited series "American Primeval" was excellent!
Rated R for brutal violence. The depiction of the Mountain Meadows Massacre was the best on-screen battle scene since Saving Private Ryan. The show was exceptionally anti-Mormon, FWIW.
I thought it was great but be forewarned, it is not the feel good movie of the summer.
I stopped watching at that moment, it was disgusting and I was watching with my granddaughter.
You should read the account of the Mountain Meadows Massacre written in MASSACRES OF THE MOUNTAINS by Dunn Jr.Published back in 1880s. Brutal! Chapter X. The Fancher train was not the only one attacked. The Shephard and Mitlmore trains were also attacked by “Indians” with beards.

The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association, voted unanimously in 2018 to rename the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award to the Children's Literature Legacy Award. This decision was made due to concerns about how Wilder referred to Native Americans and African Americans in her work.Maybe Elon can zero out the ALSC.
Cultural vandalism by Marxists.
They will persist until society collapses and everyone is enslaved. Only then they will be satisfied of achieving Marx’s vision.

“They’ll work a homo into the story, just as was done with Anne of Green Gables.”
They did THAT?! Awful.
The only version I liked was with Megan Follows.
Remember it was a CBC-Radio-Canaduh production, along with Netflix. That was 2017-2019, that was what the 'progressives' at CBC did, and continue to do.
If it were today, CBC would undoubtedly call it Ande With a D. It would be all about the struggles of an orphan French Canadian boy in 1908 Prince Edward Island, who 'identified' as a girl, Anne. How the 'patriarchy' of 'maudi-Anglais' oppressed the poor Quebecoise Anne.
I best stop giving True-dolt's propaganda arm, the CBC any ideas on how to waste even MORE of my hard-earned tax dollars!
