I wonder if they'll follow through or abandon the project, now that the steamroller unleashed by POTUS is charging hard. I tire of tuning into a show, only to promptly disengage when a woke scene - totally unnecessary to the story - is thrust in my face. We can all envision the outcome of a woke reimagining of LHotP; it sickens me.
For reference, below is the closing paragraph to the piece:
"If Netflix really wants to take a stab at honoring this cultural touchstone, they should focus on keeping “Little House on the Prairie” a showcase of the American values that built this nation. But if they want to lecture us on why Westward expansion was a racist mistake, they can take “Little House” from my cold, dead hands."
“Please don’t scalp me, evil pioneer”
Laura laughs maniacally.
In the netflix production, one of the sisters will actually be a transvestite, one will be a dyke and the third will be Black.
Guessing they won’t do a segment on the Indians, huh, native Americans, killing my great... grandparents, setting their house on fire as the two little sisters were hiding under the trundle bed. Thankfully, the neighbors saw the smoke and saved the girls.
I didn’t read it yet but didn’t the estate sell the rights to these money grubbing anti Americans?
What a great show it was as a kid.
It is a little corny watching it in my 50s :), but corny is great for little kids!
They don’t need to be dealing with the most difficult adult questions and sistuations at their age.
And they don’t need the most difficult, complex answers at their age.
Good is better than bad and will win in the short or long run.
That’s as good a message is there is for young ones.
And Lil House was great at getting that point across.
I will say, for shows on Netflix about America's westward expansion, the limited series "American Primeval" was excellent!
Rated R for brutal violence. The depiction of the Mountain Meadows Massacre was the best on-screen battle scene since Saving Private Ryan. The show was exceptionally anti-Mormon, FWIW.
I thought it was great but be forewarned, it is not the feel good movie of the summer.
The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association, voted unanimously in 2018 to rename the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award to the Children's Literature Legacy Award. This decision was made due to concerns about how Wilder referred to Native Americans and African Americans in her work.Maybe Elon can zero out the ALSC.

Read the original books and watch the original show. Let this kind of stuff flop big time and then maybe they’ll learn.
“I tire of tuning into a show, only to promptly disengage when a woke scene - totally unnecessary to the story”
We were watching 9-1-1 Lone Star until the son was pictured swapping tonsil-tongue swabs with his male love interest. We didn’t see the end of that episode nor any of the episodes after it.
I just recently read through almost the entire output of Wilders. Wow...what was the most illuminating was how matter of fact she wrote about problems that would kill most people today. Violence, disease, weather, injury. It was just expected and nobody let it really affect them from moving on.
The big streamer doesn't want the reboot of the western family show to be anything like the original.
They wants lots of sex and violence.
