A chef (Gordon Ramsey?) had a video where he's preparing the perfect hamburger. He made the statement that he only eats red meat twice a week so that he can indulge in ground beef.
What say ye? Red meat is unsafe if eaten more than twice a week? Three times a week?
Enquiring minds want to know what Freepers think.
Eating red meat a few times a week that is lean would probably be fine but watch what you are eating with it. But you do not want too much iron, etc. Depends on what your other diet is that accompanies eating said red meat. hamburgers would be more fattening and less nutritious than steak, roast, etc.
Also hamburgers have the bread from the bun and other things added on.
Safe every day unless you are a vegetarian.
Cows fattened on feed lots have meat with more fat. That isn’t bad. There MAY be small amounts of hormones that aren’t great, but the vast majority of the benefit of the meat is still there. The great benefit to red meat is the nearly perfect blend of amino acids in the protein and its near perfect bioavailability.
The deep state would like to eliminate cattle ranching/farming and get us all to eat soy-based fake meat - remember that push during COVID? Didn’t work out so well and people rejected it outright - fake meat was featured in the meat section of my supermarket at that time - and is now hidden away with the tofu.
SO, the price was raised to get Americans to curtail their “meat habit” - and push bugs on us as an alternative. Meat has definitely become more expensive, including hamburger meat which was once cheap.
I am on gout meds and red meat brings on the attack. So I know when I have too much. Every day is too much. Once a week is OK
Thanks
“Sometimes you have to cut loose.”
When you are on your way to meet your Maker, you won’t be regretting the steaks that you ate; you’ll be regretting the steaks that you didn’t!
GOD DID NOT GIVE US CANINE TEETH TO EAT SOYBEANS
WTF would a bloody chef know about it?
Or eat a restricted diet.
In either case, you die.
Just shut up about it, no one cares.
Same as Gordon. Nice roast beef sandwich (2 to 3 oz., with cheese) or a small burger. Meals the rest of the week might have smallish portions of turkey, chicken, eggs, nuts, green beans with corn (a complete protein), bean or lentil soup, or a couple of slices of bacon.
I used to love to go to a restaurant once or twice a month and get a nice 6 oz. strip steak with veggies, or a salad with steak slices cooked rare; but that was before inflation.
Dittos...
If you need to dig out a chemistry book to decipher the ingredients on whatever boxed garbage you are buying... It’s probably not good for you.
They tend to be so touchy about you not being interested in their nonsense.
Carry on then.
