What Are Gravitic Propulsion Systems? 10 Breakthroughs Shaping Space Travel
https://www.msn.com ^ | Jan 4 2025 | olive

Space travel has always hit a wall with slow speeds and massive fuel needs. Gravitic propulsion systems offer a game-changing solution by using gravity itself as a driving force. This blog breaks down 10 major advances in gravity-based space tech, from T.

Townsend Brown's early work to today's cutting-edge research at aerospace labs. Ready to explore how we might zip through space without burning tons of rocket fuel?

Scientists started exploring gravitic propulsion back in the 1920s through wild experiments with high-voltage capacitors and electromagnetic fields. T. Townsend Brown's work at the Gravity Research Foundation sparked major interest when he showed how electric charges could create thrust without moving parts.

Reading this today (to get away from that awful news about California) and got the sudden realization of what Star Trek was talking about when they said 'Warp Drive". Wow.

That's got to be a spoof article. I can't see any mainstream outlet publishing something like that.

Also, every image in it looks like it was created by an AI.

Dick Tracy already did it.

Just shoot Rosie O’Donnell’s big butt into space, and her massive gravitational pull will launch mankind into the stars.

I have seen other articles online regarding gravity propulsion systems but I just don’t know enough about it. I do know I think anyway, they don’t have one yet but I thought this all pretty interesting.

Even Popular Mechanics has an article about this stuff.

As Elon Musk once said, and I paraphrase, you’d need a few Jupiter masses equivalent of pure energy to even get close to using gravity for propulsion. But you’d also need something that for now is purely hypothetical: something scientists call exotic matter. Matter that does not have negative charge necessarily, but negative mass instead. As far as we know, it doesn’t exist.

That was the first thing I thought of, that and moon maid.

(I guess that shows my age)

Oh, i've kept up with this sort of stuff for decades, and i'm a fan of it, but I just don't think a regular mainstream media outlet would publish any of it.

Regular scientists routinely call it nonsense and most of them won't touch it.

Woodward and his people are the rare exception.

No, it won’t. There isn’t a rocket big enough with enough thrust to get her fat a$$ off the ground.

I came here to say the same thing about those obviously AI-generated images. LOL!

There isn’t a rocket big enough with enough thrust to get her fat a$$ off the ground.

Easey peasy.
We don't have to rocket her up there.
We just have to launch an endless buffet of seafood deep fried in butter and bacon grease up there.
Granted, it'd be a massive waste of precious bacon grease.
But in the words of Portal 2's Cave Johnson:
"I'll be honest - we're throwing science at the wall here to see what sticks. No idea what it'll do. Probably nothing. Best-case scenario, you might get some superpowers. Worst case, some tumors, which we'll cut out.

Anyone who has ever crossed phases with a wrench or screwdriver, knows that electric fields can cause acceleration. Bigly.

Just looked that up.
From Wikipedia about Livermorium:
“The energy applied to the beam nuclei to accelerate them can cause them to reach speeds as high as one-tenth of the speed of light.”

Wait. WUT?!

(Hope it took the carpool lane)

What a retarded article, even the captions on AI-generated pictures.

"What a retarded article, even the captions on AI-generated pictures."

Those captions are a real trip:

"A male scientist"
"An elderly scientist"
"A male researcher in his 40s"
"A diverse group of scientists"
"A group of engineers examining a glowing prototype" - quintuplets.

I was listening to this before I started looking up stuff on it.

If you haven’t heard this it’s very interesting, cuts off at the end, I don’t know why. I think it’s a part of a whole interview.

Who knows if this guy is for real or not but he sounds very real, and I wonder if this guy is who influenced Chris Carter to create Mulder in X-files.
