Insurance industry calls Harris' claim that insurers are canceling policies 'false, wrong and dangerous'

The insurance industry is pushing back after Vice President Kamala Harris suggested insurance companies have canceled the policies of victims of California's wildfires, calling her claim "false, wrong and dangerous."

During a press conference regarding the ongoing wildfires on Thursday, Harris said, "Many insurance companies have canceled insurance for a lot of the families who have been affected and will be affected, which is only going to delay or place an added burden on their ability to recover."

"I think that is an important point that must be raised," she continued, "and hopefully there can be some way to address that issue, because these families — so many of them — otherwise will not have the resources to recover in any meaningful way, and many of them have lost everything."

This raises the obvious question......

Did Kamela Harris's insuror not renew the policy when it lapsed in 2024?

Did her house burn with no insurance?

Harris is a dizzy broad without a clue. She needs to keep her big Jamaican/Indian/Canadian mouth shut. America already told her they don’t think she’s presidential material.

Refusing to renew a policy is not the same as “cancelling” a policy.

When the regulators of Insurance in California and the pro-fish people hating government of California make it impossible for insurance companies to cover likely losses in California, the companies have to get out or lose money.

If you want to have insurance companies, they have to make money to stay in business.

Individuals (”stars”) who built multimillion-dollar homes from their acting paychecks.
Living a good life on their residuals and investments.
Why would we believe them when they say “We are broke.”??
Are you telling me that the Kardashians are out on the street?
Please.

They will all re-build multmillion-dollar homes after their
[faux] grief subsides.
Everyone in LA is an actor.
They are acting.
No sympathy.

Property that is not insurable can be owned by people that can self-insure or can buy another house in another area if they sell off the lot after the house on it get destroyed.

You can’t move out of your body, but you can move to an area with lower insurance premiums.

CA has a state offered plan.

It got lots of sign-ups after State Farm’s cancelations.

What a coinkydink.

The state offered policy is far more expensive and the coverage sucks.

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it...

The cap is $3 million on the CA plan.

1,600 were canceled in Pacific Palisades by State Farm. Not sure how many found other coverage.

Wastewater could be used after processing to create protective firebreak greenbelts in west LA. Homeowners would be able to get non-potable water at low cost if they make their houses and landscaping highly fire resistant.

The Bel Air fire of 1961 is well known. LA and its homeowners had over 63 years to prepare.

California’s state and local debt exceeds $1.6 trillion. California lacks the money to pay off the claims.

Recent deficits were $38 and $28 billion. California is broke

1,600 were canceled in Pacific Palisades by State Farm.

Was the insurance cancelled or not renewed?

That's where the confusion lies.
