Jimmy Carter spoke of how completely accepted and common homosexuality was in the time of Christ .
“Homosexuality was massively practiced in some of the conflicting religions at the time of Christ and even at the time of Christ, in Roman times show that homosexuality was widely prevalent. I think it's quite significant that Jesus never did mention it.”

St. Paul who wrote most of the NT was an apostle of Jesus Christ and received more revelations of Christ than any man. Let me suggest that people read Romans 1, authored by St. Paul, for the Christian view of homosexuality.
This
The Jews did not have homosexual confusion; they knew it was forbidden sin. The Gentiles were confused and infected with the disordered sexual sins. Yeshua/Jesus said he was not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. He appointed the twelve apostles to do the same until his resurrection and ascension when he told them to teach all nations. Then, he appeared to Saul/Paul to be his apostle to the Gentiles.
Therefore Yeshua/Jesus was correcting the confused Gentiles through Saul/Paul.

I am heterosexual, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, if I go around hopping on every whore I can scare up...that’s a problem. Why should perverts get a pass?

By her logic, capital punishment, which liberals condemn, must be ok to her, since Jesus didn’t speak against it. (Of course, he wouldn’t, since it is part of God’s Law) -— same reason He didn’t have to actually speak against homosexuality -— it is condemned in the Law).
To: fwdude
Jesus didn’t have to mention homosexuality, other things He said preclude it “. See Matt 19 4/5.

Then the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to choose some of their own men and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, men who were leaders among the believers. With them they sent the following letter:
The apostles and elders, your brothers,
To the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia:
Greetings.
We have heard that some went out from us without our authorization and disturbed you, troubling your minds by what they said. So we all agreed to choose some men and send them to you with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul— men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas to confirm by word of mouth what we are writing. It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.
Farewell.

“It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’ But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Wow ! Jimmy Carter was much older than I realized. He was alive during the time of Jesus and knew His opinion on homosexuality.
This crackpot, Mia Farrow, is an imbecile.

Actually four cities. Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboiim. It would have been five but LOT went to one(Zoar) for a short while.
To: fwdude
I’ve always thought Carters argument proves why Jesus clearly forbade homosexuality.
It was widely practiced and yet he did not affirm it.
Rather in Matthew 19, when challenged by experts, he explains the creation of male and female counterparts has a divine purpose in marriage.
The disciples were themselves skeptical of this teaching but it clearly rejects same sex marital bonds.

Jewish laws were quite clear on their understanding of homosexuality. NO. Therefore, during Jesus’ time in preaching the gospel, as a Jew, he would have had no need to address the issue. Paul, on the other hand, as also a Jew, was given the Spirit to address the sexual deviances of the Gentiles as he went about preaching the gospel.

Jesus didn’t mention pedophilia specifically. Does that mean it isn’t a serious sin or crime, too?
