However, travel guide TasteAtlas has taken a shot by analyzing ratings from users, who deemed Greek food the overall best of the top 100 cuisines on the globe.
The United States, meanwhile, placed outside the top ten in this culinary decathlon, but still fared better than our neighbors across the pond in the UK.
To determine who deserved a place on this Olympic podium of eats, TasteAtlas analyzed 477,287 ratings for 15,478 foods in their database. Listed underneath each entry were their highest rated foods. Perhaps it’s fitting that the country that invented democracy was picked via crowdsourcing on this highly-subjective countdown. That’s right, Greece stood atop this culinary Mount Olympus, boasting a score of 4.6 out of 5 five stars.

Unless they're Muslim. There are some Muslim Chinese restaurants around here that feature lamb dishes, which are usually not found in Chinese restaurants.
The Mediterranean Sea has the world’s best foods!
As was stated upthread, America has the best selections from the rest of the world. Happy New Year to you, FRiend!
I have a friend who was born in China’s Kwangtung Province, and his mother made the best Chinese food I ever had. This was Cantonese cuisine, which is mild but with subtle flavors.

When I'm on Capitol Hill at mealtime, I tend to eat at the Hawk 'n' Dove, which serves great American cuisine. But I wish the cafeteria in the Senate Office Building hadn't been closed to the public after J6. I miss their Senate Bean Soup.
Lebanese cuisine can be very good too.
Spicy food is not often good food.
Mexican?
Same six ingredients in different layers
Yuck
The article seems to be saying that it’s a rating of countries with the best food, but then the ratings are by cuisine and not country...it seems anyway.
I’ve had better food of all cuisine types in Japan and I put it down to the cleanliness and ingredients.
China and Mexico, both of which I’ve eaten in, are way down the list for the same reasons.
I find it hard to believe Turkey and Indonesia are above France and Japan.
Lebanese food is very good.
Much Mexican food in general is very overrated. I like it fine occasionally but it should not be expensive. It is just basic food of a certain type.
Prices in Mexican restaurants have gone up and up, as though it is “fine food.” For the same money it costs at those places, much better non-Mexican food can be gotten.
Cheaper Mexican places are often as good or better as the expensive ones, and are OK for basic economical meals when atmosphere and food quality for a serious date or anniversary are not the goal. We know a few and they work well when we simply do not want to cook. And they beat places like McDonalds in price and quality and even prompt service, for sure.
If you love beef and pork, Argentina is the place.
Say a PRAYER that RFK doesn't run into a "buzz saw" with his efforts to bring the U.S. into a better healthier eating reality.
True not all foods are available everywhere. Mostly cities and suburban areas, but there is always Amazon.
Thanks. Good food means good meats and veggies. Eat well, my Freeper friend.
One of the best pieces of meat I have ever eaten was a venison tenderloin smoked with apple wood. The meat was from a young doe, a yearling a friend shot and butchered. He had a smoker and smoked lots of meats. I couldn’t help myself from having not just seconds, but thirds. Delicious!
😂😂😂
Mexican is workaday food.
Tbh I am at a place in life where less ingredients cooked plainly but well makes me happy.
