Lots of tough guys and ex-cons in paving, sand and gravel, and trucking concrete mix. So I am not surprised. These kinds of rumbles were more common in past decades.
It’s all about profits and the other paving company stealing “your” jobs.
We have a long driveway. Pavers have come repeatedly over last 20 years, trying to get our business. They men always seemed like shady thugs.
This time, it’s NOT them, Yogi.
Really fine looking guys.
I wonder what model of baseball bats they were. I personally like a Hillerich & Bradsby Model R161, 35” long and weighing 34 ounces whenever I need to go after my fellow pavers.
Probably travellers
Well, the good news is that once they beat their rivals to death with the baseball bats, they can pave over them in your driveway.
‘Angry masons’
I’ve never seen one that wasn’t. They were always brawling with someone, even among themselves if no one else was available.
This wouldn’t happen in New Jersey … because the paving bids there are all rigged. :-P
If the Sopranos analogy were to work one of the Paving Co.s would be legit and their antagonists would be outright thugs
like Paulie Walnuts ready to shut them down and yanking them down into hot asphalt bc they didn’t or wouldn’t make payments or are working in an area where the approved Mafia landscapers/pavers,etc. work and effectively “owned”-— the approved ones already making kickback payments. So here they might both be “semi”- legit and deserve each other.
Sounds like Travelers…. Gypsy’s….
The “Company” did it???
Not the owners / managers / employees, or combinations thereof as individual humans?
Many paving company own by Armenians?.
