Salvation Army Angel Tree Drama: These People Are Not Grateful In today’s video we’ll be discussing how some parents are not grateful for the gift given to their kids for Christmas by Salvation Army Angel tree
FReepers youtube and tic tok is blowing up over this. Some who received items from the Salvation Army's Angel Tree were quite ungrateful and posted about it. They have since deleted their video over bad comments but everyone saved them. People are upset, as they should be over this. Now not all were going on tic tok and saying their "Christmas was ruined" but enough has done this to have hundreds of videos made.

During the covid lockdown, I spent a lot of time fishing in a local park. One of the more interesting homeless people living there did a lot of panhandling. “Time to go to work.” He made a shirt with a Sharpie...”Do not arrest this man.” The cops were issuing citations in lieu of custody, because the jail was closed to any but the worst offenders. This guy had a pocketful of citations. At first, I got on him for not having a fishing license, but later came to see that of all the people that hung out there, he was one of very few that would actually try to catch fish to eat. He never asked me for money, but did ask me to go to a store he’d been trespassed from to buy him a couple of beers. He gave me exact change.
Re: people standing on the street corner. - I keep bags in my car each of which has a bottle of water, a snack, sometimes a gift card, and a rosary or holy card. I have also given people hats in hot weather or an umbrella. They are always so grateful. I’ve offered a coat but was turned down.
I worked with a Bangladeshi Muslim immigrant about 15 years ago. We went to a restaurant that had one of those stupid trees and he was amused by its meaning. I explained what it was and that “poor” kids would put a request for presents on the little decorations and people would buy the kid that present. He looked at them and they were all stupid things like fancy shoes, games, and x boxes. He laughed and said a kid in his own country would be happy to just get clean drinking water.
Bingo. I give lots to the local animal rescue and the senior citizen charity directly. I use to give to “Right to Life” until I saw how little they actually use to fight abortion laws.
“Saw that the psych patients in hospitals were not grateful at all for all the things the staff did for them particularly at the holidays.”
I have more pity for psych patients. That has to suck big eggs. Being in a nervous hospital during Christmas? I don’t think much could make one feel better. All they want is to go home. Plus I know the truth about most care workers in those places. They might be kind when an outsider is around but otherwise they can be nasty to the patients. Honestly? the only reason some nurses are there is the abortion clinic would not or could not hire them.
Law enforcement authorities would spend years scratching their heads, trying to figure out if it was even possible to prosecute anyone. LOL.
I used to think that, then I found out some of those unborn babies may want to become veterinarians when they grow up.
So terribly sorry about your friend. Keep her alive in your memories, and share stories with us so that we’ll remember her, too.
I rage at the deaths of good people. The world never has enough of them. When I lose someone I love, which hasn’t happened for a long time, thank goodness, I build a webpage and dump every memory I have of them. Back when I was 17, I lost a mentor and heroine to bone cancer. Someone told me that they live as long as they’re remembered. It was the greatest comfort. And so I carry people with me that must be remembered and I spread their memories far and wide so that they will still live on in the memories of people who’ve only met them through their stories.

RE: THE BIG BUTTS”:
IMO, THEY LOOK GROTESQUE
That is rarely the case because the case workers at SA won’t allow it. My Kiwanis club gave bicycles. Too often, the items are returned to Walmart. I saw a guy in line at the service desk with a large stack of diapers, probably donated. Merry Griftmas
What kills me most is the rabid gifting in the 1st place. Christmas is a birthday party, sure, but not ours.
We were all given a tremendous gift in Christ.
“I LOVED THE BELLRINGERS!”
Thank you. It gave me a chance to wear my funeral coat that I paid a mint for back in the day.
I would rather have the $680
If you're donating puppy toys, then that's a great gesture.
If you're donating money, good luck with that........Animal charities are among the worst for neglecting to use the monies for what it's intended.
One of my friends in HS became homeless and panhandled on a corner. My college roommate, who went bald our senior year in college, stopped at his corner and he yelled out “Hey! You used to have hair”. He didn’t make it to 40. Shout out to the late Oleander Campbell
That’s true.
Very.
I donate money and assume some of it goes for toys. Never to national pup charities for the reason you, and others, have given. But local charities are run by people you can meet and question. They’ll tell you exactly what their policies are, what they spend the money on, and how many volunteers come to clean up runs and change kitty litter.
Local volunteers like the Lions’ Club take in wheelchairs and walkers after people recover and give them out to people who need them, getting tractor trailers donated to store the medical supplies and land for the trailers to sit on. Local communities are the most wonderful things.
I’m reminded of a Salvation Army themed Man from Uncle episode

I have watched most of the psych staff in our state which by the way Patients say provides the best care nationally. I have seen nurses knit 25 to 50 hats for each stocking.
Some of the patients are heartbreaking. Many ride the system. Some are in hiding. Most are behaviorally dysregulated. You haven’t stood next to two patients discussing how they hide the income from the building rentals they own in order to ride free care.
