Most Catholics in all seven countries want the church to allow Catholics to use birth control.
In most of the countries surveyed, majorities of Catholics also say the church should allow women to become priests.
Opinion is more divided on whether the church should allow priests to get married.
Views on whether the church should recognize the marriages of gay and lesbian couples vary among Catholics in the countries surveyed.
Ten years ago, nearly all Catholics surveyed there (98%) expressed a favorable opinion of Francis, compared with 74% today.

Catholics reject Protestant adherence to Scripture, but they do not realize that they themselves are just as beholden to the tradition that is established by the Roman Catholic Church.
Keep this up and 'Mary' herself will appear to you and chastise you for NOT praying the Rosary!!
It could be NEITHER.
And when we post them IN context, Rome has a convenient way of slipping away from them.
Since you mentioned it...

Show us CONTRARINESS!
Well said, Lightbringer, well said!
Almost as good as...

We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
And yet you have Pope Francis as your pope.
Christ didn't establish a church. He's BUILDING a church.
And that church is the body of all true believers throughout time from the Day of Pentecost until the End Times.
He included them when He said *The Law and the Prophets*.
Just because something is not written in Scripture the way Catholics want to hear it, doesn’t mean it’s not there.
Au contraire mon ami.
It's the other way around: Unless you can show that early Christians DID believe in the perpetual virginity of Mary you cannot claim it's been that way forever.
Paul gets to that later in Romans.
Romans 8:1-2 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
What’s a little “s” between friends?
Catholics love to pretend that Mary was some special case and special class of human being and at the time everyone knew it and revered her, including Joseph.
However, Scripture bears a different record.
Mary was puzzled over the angel’s greeting. She clearly didn’t think she was special.
After the shepherds left, Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. This was something very unusual and clearly she wasn’t expecting it. Otherwise it would have cost her no need for thought or pondering.
Mary and Joseph both marveled at the prophecy Simeon spoke over Him. They obviously didn’t expect that.
When Jesus stayed in Jerusalem and they found Him in the Temple, they were astonished and Mary chastised Him, saying they were searching for Him in great distress.
Interesting what the Greek has to say here.
Astonished - https://biblehub.com/greek/1605.htm
“Definition: To astonish, to amaze, to be struck with amazement.
Meaning: I strike with panic or shock; I amaze, astonish.”
and....
distress - https://biblehub.com/greek/3600.htm
“Definition: To cause pain, to be in anguish, to grieve
Meaning: I torment, pain; mid. and pass: I am tormented, pained; I suffer acute pain, physical or mental.”
Later Mary and His brothers came to take Him home because they thought He was out of His mind.
Also, all the people that knew Him and His earthly family thought He was Joseph’s son. That’s why they were so intent on killing Him and almost threw Him off the hill to His death.
This fantasy about people at the time knowing who He truly was is just wishful thinking with NO evidence at all to support it.
If you can lose your salvation by sinning, then you keep it by not sinning.
That's keeping it by works.
So you're contradicting yourself. Catholicism teaches salvation by works, gotta be good enough, you can't sin or God's gonna zap you and too bad for you. It time to burn for eternity.
And is NOT being saved. Hell is what we're saved from.
And since God created us as new creatures in Christ through being born again spiritually, and sealed the deal with the Holy Spirit and canceling the record of our sin debt, there is no judgement and our salvation is sure. If there's no sin held to our account, then there's nothing to condemn us for.
I’ve heard hundreds times more about Luther from FRoman Catholics here than I ever heard in church. And most of what I knew from before is what I learned in public high school history class.
the majority can and often does rule... in the whole church, both in heaven and in earth. The majority is at least this... The Father, The Son (the word made flesh) and the Holy Spirit, one God AKA Yeshua the Christ AND his entire body in the presence of all the Holy Angels. THAT is the majority.
I love Roman Catholics. But the RC organization centered in the Vatican... along with all blood bought, bible believing ‘faithful’ needs to pray for the entire church structural clergy organizations to repent, confess and reform to follow after Holy God and HIS word. That includes so-called ‘protestants’ who believe that God calls men everywhere to repent and who warns us.. that being at least me, ‘except you repent, you will also likewise perish’.
Luke 13:3 (Aramaic Bible in Plain English)
“No, but I say to you, all of you also shall likewise be destroyed unless you repent.”
God will purify the “sons of Levi that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness... His righteousness... “ how does he do it? He IS the refiner’s fire. He IS faithful to do it. Lord Jesus... help us.
Catholics are big on obeying God except when it suits them to excuse away the disobedience as with this topic.
Let me know if you get an answer.
Heck, the Catholic church isn’t even consistent within itself.
They’re in no position to point fingers about doctrinal differences.
There’s the modernists, the Latin mass folks, the sedevacantists, the Pope Pius people, the first Vatican council, Vatican 2, etc.
They can’t even make up their collective minds what they believe.
it can be hard to kick against the pricks/goads... but fools will learn no other way than the ‘road to damascus’ method.
