We have finally reached the end! Day #52 of the Top 50 songs on my iTunes playlist -- ranked in reverse order by play frequency from #50 to #1 and presented here on a series of FR threads. I've posted them here on a new thread that compiles the growing list one day at a time since early August. There are two "extra" days at the end because we had a tie at #50 and an Honorable Mention collection a few days ago.
To show my gratitude to the FR management for giving us all a forum to post vanity threads like this, contributions for both the 3rd and 4th quarter fundraisers have been committed. I would encourage everyone on these threads to do the same! :-)
Thank you all for your input and the great online conversations over the last few months. :-)

And I have yet to hear a country song with "Amarillo" in the lyrics that isn't a great one!
"I ain't got a dime, but what I've got is mine ... I ain't rich -- but Lord, I'm free."
Thank you all for following this thread along the way, and a special THANK YOU to SunkenCiv for posting the prior list of threads so I could repost the hyperlinks all in one place!

FREEBIRD!!!!
🎵 And this bird you cannot Chaaa-aaaa-aaaa-aaange.
No! “Tuesday’s Gone!” LOL.
LOL. I am so sorry to disappoint them. And there’s another Freeper who prayed daily not to see a Barry Manilow song at the top of this list!
Thank you kindly for kudos like that. I am happy to please!
I was not worried about Barry Manalow. But the Bee Gees did cause me some sleepless nights of dread. Oh, and Madonna too.
I was at a Who concert, long ago. Tangerine Bowl, the event staff estimated a crowd of 80,000, from what I heard. As the show was winding down, a friend and I decided to work our way up high, and to the back. We got there about the time the band was winding down, and the fireworks were going to go off, and with maybe a dozen people behind us, one of them yells “Freebird!!” at the top of his lungs. Had to laugh.
good list, we listen to the same music.
Speaking of the Bee Gees, I thought you might get a kick out of this. The title says it all. LMAO.
Black people finding out the Bee Gees are white (compilation)
Good list. Thanks
Before I reveal my #1, let me state in advance that my Top 50 most played tunes are not my actual most played tunes. This is because I am a sucker for downloading the latest remastered or expanded versions of my favorite albums.
Whenever I do this, the play counts of my most favorite songs get reset to zero.
For example, "Tusk" is my favorite Fleetwood Mac album and thus songs like "Sisters Of The Moon", "Sara", and "Storms" would easily get into my most played songs. But recently, I downloaded the massive 62-track "Expanded Edition" which reset all those songs back to zero (because I always delete earlier versions).
Anyway, time for my number one most played iTunes song which was downloaded many years ago on a compilation Christmas album and currently sits at 262 plays.
The Pogues - Fairytale of New York (1988)
This is a song I never get tired of listening to. Especially after I moved to the New York City area just over a decade ago.
The Pogues had many other great songs including "A Rainy Night In Soho" and "A Pair Of Brown Eyes".
Lead singer Shane McGowan died just about a year ago at this time. He had quite a rough life but wrote some great songs.
Anyway, thanks for letting my piggyback on your threads with my own top songs. Here are my 50 top played songs on iTunes that I froze in time about when you started this project. There are a lot of new songs moving up so in a year or so, this list will look a lot different in my music library.
