I am posting a vanity in the hope of saving my FRiends a little money, which you might donate here or to another good cause. Spoiler alert in comment.
Is it a comedy? Sounds like one.
Thanks for saving me the bucks.
We went to see Tom Hank’s movie, “Here.” Save your $$ and don’t go “There.”
Nope. Not funny. Not worth seeing for free.
It will win all the Hollywood awards.
Thanks for the heads-up, even though I do not go to the movie theaters anymore. Sounds hideous like all the movies they seem to put out anymore. ππ
Was it bad or simply unimpressive?
Ah, a steaming pile of dung and fetid offal.
Thanks. I won’t.
The previews were all for upcoming Disney crap. Wicked is starring Ariana Grande (the donut licker). Won’t see any of those either.
I watched it for free from behind a VPN on a pirate streaming site.
The hermaphrodite Pope was supposed to prove we are all bigots I suppose.
The villain was a traditionalist archbishop.
The hero was a woke archbishop.
The new pervert supremacist Pope was the Voice of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
So predictable.
/\This/\
I have mostly given up on "thoughtful movie for actual grown ups".
If I wasn’t an ex-Catholic, I would become one.
They won’t make a Muslim version of that crap!
Yeah, imagine the rampage if Hollyweird released a film about a hermaphrodite Imam.
From the trailer we saw at the theatre over the summer, it looked good.
But on reconsideration, maybe not.
I donβt go much anymore either.
Over the summer, I did see Twisters at the theatre. It was good . No problems.
We were gonna see Reagan at our local theatre but it left before we had a chance.
Just didn’t get it. Showed the history of the spot where a house was located from the begging of time, when the Indian roamed up until Tom Hanks & his wife (Robin Wright) lived there. There was a scene where a black family owned the house and the mom & dad lecture their son on how to react when the police pulls him over & how he better hope the cop had their coffee that morning.
More white self flagellation.
I just prefer watching movies at home where we can hit the pause button to go get snacks or whatever may come along. I rarely watch the film a second time, but if I want to it's there.
The fact that they made a remake is typical for Hollywood right now, because they are noy really creative in Hollywood anymore. Which is why they produce movies that no one is really interested in seeing.
I think my wife wants to start selling them, because they are basically like brand new., and we have an entire wall of DVDs. We are getting older, and really never watch them like we used to. She has several streaming options to choose from now. I hardly watch any TV anymore. I will watch an occasional Unearthed program.
I thought it was a pretty good movie. Didn’t think it was life changing but I thought it was well shot and well played.
Back in 1978 (I forget if it was the first or second conclave), the student paper at my university had a piece urging the cardinals to elect a woman pope...citing the (fictitious) precedent of Pope Joan.
