I’ve been wondering

I live in Putnam County which is referred to as “upstate” New York. We are just a stone’s throw from Westchester County. When traveling around Putnam I see some Trump signs but very few Harris signs. Sort of makes sense since the county is home to retired cops and mostly middle class families. Now when my travels take me into Westchester which is a pretty affluent area I see many more Harris signs than Trump. Some are rabid supporters with multiple lawn signs and even Trump signs with a circle and bar across it. Why is that? How can you in theory have “made it” but be so stupid as to endorse such a looser? Are they democrat party hacks, do that many people live off government grants, or are they involved in education and have been brainwashed. Help me out here with any ideas why so many supposedly smart people can be so blind.

David Horowitz wrote of his personal journey from a Marxist spewing Leftist to a Conservative. He wrote how his conscience finally made him admit the intellectual dishonesty of the Leftist views he had been promoting.

You have to be committed to intellectual honesty more than a political theology. The vast majority of Leftist thinking persons never are. Once having adopted a Leftist position, any honesty about it can no longer be questioned. Its almost like an obsession and as with all obsession the fear of mental breakdown if it is opposed. From that we see the constant hypocrisy of the Democrats. Every severe criticism they make of Trump is a refusal to look in the mirror and acknowledge they are more than Trump quitly of everything they accuse him of. Intellectual dishonesty and the obsessive unwillingness to break it.

A dear a great family friend has had that problem most all his adult life. I remember many years ago speaking to him about all the dictatorial thinks Chavez in Venezuela was doing, things this dear friend would, you’d think, never contenance with any American leader. Yet, this dear friends response to my whole catalogue of Chavez’ crimes against his own people was “at least he’s a socialist”.

Rush Limbaugh was right. Liberalism [and Leftism] is a mental disease.

Affluent people want to be thought of as nice, and Democrats have pulled a guilt trip on them. The only way to get indulgences from the Democrat religion is to give it money and support it to make up for your success and racism.

How true. I am also surprised at the hate and violence opposing views can cause in a leftist. I commend you for attending so many rallies. I have attended protests and counter protests myself but not as many as you.
I was at one counter protest where the liberals wanted to protest a local official. We were there to show our support. The libs showed up at their appointed time to get filmed by a local news crew and then left when the news crew left. They couldn’t have been there more than 1/2 an hour.

God help us.

Why would he?

We kicked him out of our schools.
We kicked him out of our town squares.
We kicked him out of our entertainment.
We kicked him out of our media.
We kicked him out of our courts.
We kicked him out of our government.
We even kicked him out of many of our churches!

My heavily Orthodox neighborhood has few Trump signs, but many American flags. I spotted ONE Harris sign (I cringed!) on my way home from a holiday meal, but just one in blocks and blocks of houses. It is sort of unspoken that we all support Trump, and table discussions run that way, too. No one can wrap their mind around voting for Harris/Walz. They’d just as soon vote for the devil.

I grew up in Westchester — it has long been called "the bedroom community of New York City" due to it originally being a great, safe, beautiful place to raise a family with the breadwinners commuting to NYC. And yes, it was traditionally Republican for the reasons you cite.

However, over time it grew more and more Democrat-leaning as it became more and more expensive to live there and only the professional class could afford the best areas — doctors, lawyers, publishers, etc. Thus it became filled with the college- and post-grad-educated class, which is now almost ALL leftist. They love high taxation and the status of being able to pay for that.

I moved away in 2009, when combined federal and state taxes took over half my earnings.

It is so much weirder than you think. There are a ton of people who have joined a secret society which views people like us as enemies and threats. The whole website in my tag is all about them. I have been trying to expose it for years now. I think when they get recruited in, after extensive psych evals, they are told it is like a neighborhood watch thing, or maybe even a spy thing. But as they get drawn into it, it is just a big criminal enterprise ripping off the government, and they accept that, and partake of it. And they are all in so deep now, I think they fear if their side loses its grip, and this thing is exposed, the rest of society will tear them apart.

I think you would have to consider my explanation, even absent all the other evidence at my site, just off the idea Kamala could be even close enough to let fraud push her over Trump.

“they just don’t see the damage they are causing until it’s too late.My fear is the parallels between our current state and the Weimar republic.”

Like the serfs in russia, they fought to oust the Tsar and then were the first to starve.

I’ve been trying to decide if this is more like Hitler or more like Lenin/Stalin. Either way, we’re being sent to the camps.

I think the German people did Prosper at first from Hitler building up the economy. The Communist and those dissenting didn’t fare well, so maybe that’s a parallel.

They know it, and it causes a degree of cognitive dissonance that in the stronger ones that can be isolated and walled off. In the weaker ones, it is expressed in this behavior we saw yesterday, and sometimes...as in the BLM riots...worse behavior.

I have known quite a lot of liberals in my 80 years and one attribute that stands out to me is that few if any are sincerely religious believers who fear the Lord and regularly repent for their transgressions. They are unmoored, adrift and empty, depressed vessels. We know, nature abhors a vacuum and without vigilance, Lucifer will certainly fill that vacuum.

Trump hatred is intense and all-consuming. This is usually a surprise to those who only inhabit the echo chamber here. This is the era of ideology over survival. People out there hate Trump so much that they would rather risk their lives than vote for him.

"...even more unsettling was the loud and uncontrolled profanity, almost always involving the “F” word....it was the loud, un-hinged vehemence in which it was delivered that was unsettling."

I hear ya' brother.

Spend some time praying in front of an abortion mill and you get somewhat inured to it. Sadly.
