But there are plenty of shoppers like Jamie Bercaw, 33, from Owega, New York, who want to stick to buying seasonal items timed to the calendar.

“I feel like there is a time and season for everything,” she said. “If we purchase these things too early, they're not as special.”

Love egg nog, but kind of high in carbs (not worried about the fat). I’ve tried to make my own but can’t quite get it.

Eggnog is a waste of perfectly good rum.

Eggnog has been in the market since mid September here in New England.

I dread the day that they start with the Christmas music.

My favorite holiday is Easter. I demand Easter Candy/Decor year round! This is AMERICA! Why should I have to wait for ANYTHING? *SMIRK*

I picked up a quart of eggnog at least three weeks ago at a Safeway near Tucson. Halloween candy was out in August, and Lowe’s already has fake Christmas trees.

They might just as well sell the merchandise for every holiday all year round. Sort of like the way political campaigning never stops now.

All I have to do is LOOK at a carton of egg nog and I gain five pounds. Love it!

One of the great pleasures in life. Southern Comfort traditional egg nog.

A glass filled with half milk and half egg nog. Watching the election results roll in.

I could drink eggnog year-round, despite that joke from Dave Attell. Not all cartons contain what can reasonably be called eggnog, but I’ve not had the homemade kind in decades.

Lactaid actually made one of the best ‘canned’ ‘nogs I’ve had.

In all seriousness, I think this goes to the lack of spirituality and oneness of nature in this country. There is a lack of a presence that helps us understand there is a time for everything. People want to elongate the use of material goods, not necessarily focus on the birth of our Lord, the souls of the departed or time to have true gratitude for what we have.

Haven’t been able to find eggnog, unfortunately, except for one container of pumpkin eggnog, then couldn’t find that again!

I know it is deadly as far as its fat content, etc. but for me, one tablespoon in coffee is all I need, can’t imagine drinking the stuff it’s so thick...rest of family despises it (good! more for me).

Pumpkin spice everything has been out here since the end of August.

We make it Deep south folded style eggnog that you have to eat with a spoon and sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon
And eat with a spoon it’s quite unlike the liquid Version and I’m willing to have it anytime
You have to prepare it in like three bowls at once And together mix it together
Egg whites and maybe a few yolks the cream
The whiskey cook the eggs

Anyhow, that’s how Mississippi does it

I have started putting up Christmas decor just after Halloween. It is a long of time, work, and money to only enjoy for a month between Thanksgiving and Christmas. So I just skip straight to Christmas now on the decorations.

IDK, it's an innocent indulgence to me.

I live in Florida. We don't have seasons, except for when one day you wake up and half of the trees are missing leaves....
