Stores here were putting up Christmas stuff in August..................
Hobby Lobby is a good one for that - HOWEVER, they ARE a craft store and it takes time to make seasonal, handmade things. From a Retail Perspective (18 years of it!) I totally get it.
I NEVER put out ‘Christmas’ until the day AFTER Thanksgiving. My Garden Center Customers appreciated it. Never had one complaint in 10 years. Those people were MY people. :)
That’s a bit early.
I understand they need to put out their decorations (in a seasonal section) so that they can sell decorations to us for us to display at our homes.
The woman at the beginning of the article puts her stuff out too early, IMHO.
I don’t put Halloween decorations out until the beginning of October. Thanksgiving themed decor goes up after Halloween. Christmas items aren’t displayed until after Thanksgiving. I usually wait until December 1 to start.
Of course, I keep Christmas decorations up through the Epiphany, and because those take me the longest to put up and take down, it’s usually mid to late January before it’s all put away.
I know there are others who disagree with this format, but it’s what I’m comfortable with doing.
Same here in Phoenix, where today, God willing, it will be the first day below 100 degrees.
