A food processing company has recalled nearly 10 million pounds of meat and poultry products manufactured at an Oklahoma plant due to listeria concerns.
“BrucePac, a Durant, Okla. establishment, is recalling approximately 9,986,245 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) meat and poultry products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes,” the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.
“The ready-to-eat meat and poultry items were produced from June 19, 2024, to October 8, 2024. These products were shipped to other establishments and distributors nationwide then distributed to restaurants and institutions,” the FSIS stated.
According to the New York Post, BrucePac’s brand names include Urban Bruce and City Grillers.
Per FSIS:
The products subject to recall bear establishment numbers “51205 or P-51205” inside or under the USDA mark of inspection.
The problem was discovered after FSIS performed routine product testing of finished product containing RTE poultry products produced by BrucePac and confirmed those products positive for Listeria monocytogenes. Subsequent FSIS investigation identified BrucePac RTE chicken as the source of the Listeria monocytogenes.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider.
Consumption of food contaminated with L. monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns. Less commonly, persons outside these risk groups are affected.
“Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms,” the announcement added.
From the New York Post:
The USDA published a full list of products that were recalled.
“Restaurants, institutions, and other establishments are urged not to serve or use these products,” the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said on Wednesday.
“These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”
The recall includes approximately 75 products.

for your lists..............
Uh-oh, the sandwich I’m eating... meat...
Thanks RB.
Thats ok. I’m not worried. I seldom eat 10 million pounds of meat in one sitting.
You tend to lose sight of that when processing and your hands feel like they want to fall off but there are advantages.
They intend to make us stop eating meat one way or another...........
The list is a little cryptic but it appears the affected products are mostly precooked chicken breast and beef strip products, including fajita preps. Fortunately the vulnerable population is pregnant women and old people, so I’m not wor
Nope, none of that crap do I buy or consume.
A 4 month span?
When I was a kid we hardly ever bought meat, eggs or dairy products. Processed food was unheard of...,...
The list provided by Red Badger comprises and includes 75 varieties of chicken products, only.
Analogously, Harris has been force-feeding the whole country word salads.
Dang!
When I read the headline, I assumed it was about moochelle...
OTOH, someone told me that no American citizens work at any of the meat & poultry processing factories...
This means there is a very high probability that workers handling the food have typhus, polio, black plague, syphilis, and hundreds of other 3rd-world diseases that were removed from the U.S. long ago...
Thanks for plucking that information from the world wide web. :^)
I have NEVER seen such LYSERIA outbreak numbers in all my life! Weaponized food processing?
There’s a few beef on it too......
My guess is poor hygiene from third world work force ...........
Sort of, some of them are beef with some soy filler.
