When it comes to exercise for heart health, you don't want to peak too early in life. Recent research suggests that if you want to protect yourself against high blood pressure as you age, you need to play the long game and keep your exercise levels up through middle age.
But social factors can make this more difficult for some people to do than others, according to a study of more than 5,000 people across 4 US cities.
"Teenagers and those in their early 20s may be physically active but these patterns change with age," study author and epidemiologist Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) explained in April 2021, when the study was published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.

You have to read to the end to find they recommend “ five hours of moderate exercise a week”
Beautiful dog
That would never work for me. Laugh out loud
My gal Tippy looks very similar. That dog is from the Internet, but Blue Heelers all have that mischievous “look”.
One of the reasons I have to use Internet pix is that Tippy will not sit still to be photographed. :-)
How old is tippy?
This entire stupid article neglects to mention how much to exercise. Why bother publishing it?
Cats sleep more than they are awake, and they have nine lives.
She’ll be 5 this month. I got her when she was 2, and we’re inseperable.
God bless.

That’s why we pay babes like Kirsten Bibbins the BIG BUCKS.
I’m an “elderly neighbor”. :-)
But Tippy keeps me young. I end up visiting and attempting to motivate people who are MUCH younger than I am.
Saw Mick Jagger in May and he’s even older than I am. He puts me to shame. LOL!
“I’m gaining a lot of muscle but my stomach is not where I want it to be. It has shrank a lot but I guess I got to change the diet to get it flat.”
Probably have what 80% of us FReepers have (me included) - Metabolic Syndrome. Best way to fix that is to cut back, or cut out, carbs.
You too, FRiend!
Good idea. I’m going to start that in the morning
I appreciate it.
That’s quite a lot. I walk about 5 miles, three or four times a week. I cannot imagine doing cardio for five hours a week.
“Experts” say I have to walk five miles a day (10,000 steps).
After a week, I was 35 miles away!
