The necropolis of PanorĂa is located at the easternmost end of Sierra Harana, in the town of Darro (Granada). It consists of at least 19 graves, 9 of which have been excavated between 2015 and 2019. They are collective burials from which more than 55,000 human skeletal remains were recovered. The dating of these remains shows that the first burials took place 5600 years ago with a discontinuous funerary use until 4100 years ago.Bioarchaeological AdvancesIn a recent study published in the prestigious journal Scientific Reports, the use of new bioarchaeological methods has allowed the identification of chromosomal sex from the study of DNA and the analysis of a protein known as Amelogenin present in the tooth enamel.
In this way, it has been possible, for the first time, to obtain a precise demographic profile of the biological sex of the people who were buried in these megalithic monuments. Surprisingly, the result is a clear bias in favour of female burials, twice that of male burials, a bias that is even more pronounced among juvenile individuals with a ratio of 10 females for every male individual.
This ratio is far from the usual composition of human populations, which is approximately one to one. Only in exceptional circumstances, e.g. conflicts, wars or intense migration processes, does this ratio break down in favour of one of the sexes.

55K dead / 1500 years = 36 per year or 3 per month
Lunar sacrifices?
2 girls and 1 boy offered up to the local demon for another month of prosperity?
We should start piling up our aborted babies in the same way to amaze future archeologists. Although the pile would be A LOT bigger.
How long, can you tread water??
It was the only way for the men to rest in peace.
Cosby's joke was a good one.
Actually this time around will be much worse than a flood but Jesus is our "ark" to take us up and out of the disaster that will hit the whole earth soon.
LOL- also the only way for a man to get a word in edgewise lol

I prefer polyandry.
They all go to the Ladies’ Room together, too. It’s a mystery.
The article says 55,000 “human Skeletal remains”, it does NOT say bodies. How many bones and teeth does each human have—more than 200, especially if some of the teeth have fallen out of the skull. So perhaps only around 300 bodies over more than 1000 years. Men certainly traveled a lot more than women, and probably took their maturing sons with them. Sometimes it was to fight other tribes, but often to go hunting for food, including large dangerous game. Then there was trade traveling. Remember the ice man body found in the Alps a few years ago. Why was he killed? Was he a trader, did he steal the valuable copper tool he carried, or were greedy tribesman trying to steal it from him? The age of his body was within the same time period the current article is describing.
A:Because they lived too close together and their periods synchronized.
(a sexist would say)
lol
Thanks glee’.
I thought the Flood of Noah was around the Younger Dryas time, 12,900 years ago BP (Before Plastic).
“I thought the Flood of Noah was around the Younger Dryas time, 12,900 years ago BP (Before Plastic).”
Well, definitely BP (Before Plastic).
Correction to my original post...
The time between 4000 BC and 3000 BC is a mysterious time.
The Bible records 4000 BC (6000 years ago) as about the time of Adam and Eve.
3000 BC (5000 years ago) is about the time of Noah and the flood.
In between, the biblical record shows that the gene pool got corrupted and worldwide wickedness was rampant with no remedy other than complete annihilation.
FYI, the Bible also says the ends times in which we are living will be like the days of Noah.
