Scientists have discovered a remarkable way to destroy cancer cells. Stimulating aminocyanine molecules with near-infrared light caused them to vibrate in sync, enough to break apart the membranes of cancer cells.
Aminocyanine molecules are already used in bioimaging as synthetic dyes....

not sure, but the following article from 2018 discusses two dyes that were developed that bind specifically to cancer cells. So my guess would be to incorporate aminocyanine molecules into those dyes if they are not already a component:

I heard about the research for that method, 40+ years ago. At that time, they initially would have the patient spend some time in a very warm bath, in order to make the cancer cells more vulnerable.

I guess we should be grateful for 99% destruction. Unfortunately, cancer is such that even 1% can still multiply and kill.
