There is a lot of that lately.
So a status symbol of the elite chooses to go extinct by caving to DEI/woke/green... Who’s next?
The price of used Porsches just went UP!.......................
That smells like bull squeeze. Flashing ROMs with new code to meet European cybersecurity standards is too expensive? Come on!
Who knew that Europe had implemented cybersecurity standards for vehicles? To what end? Probably just part of the EU's plan to hasten the end of ICE cars.
Porsche to discontinue the ICE-powered Macan in non-European markets by 2026.
The automaker will focus on the Macan EV once the gas-powered variant goes out of production.
718 Boxster and Cayman production to end production next year, with an electric successor to arrive soon.
A SINGLE AUTOMOTIVE CYBER SECURITY STANDARD AT LAST: WP.29

There's the usual scare that somebody can remotely take control of your car. But this is interesting: "...the more likely threat is that bad actors will intercept car data for financial reasons. For example, they are installing malware into a vehicle's operating system and demanding payment for removing it."
The most significant change is adding new requirements for the security of OTA software updates.
The new requirements require vehicle manufacturers to implement several security measures, including:
Porsche-VW-Audi have always made very delicate vehicles, that is, ever since the demise of the air cooled Beetle. It’s hard to believe their EV’s will be reliable.
I’m sitting in my gas powered SUV right now. At this time it’s a little hard to get gas but not too long of a wait. My neighbors with electric vehicles will not be able to go anywhere soon because their power is out.
The exception to the above are my neighbors with natural gas powered generators, they can charge their electric vehicles. I have one employee who has a Tesla power system and he is a double exception. He is running his house and charging his cars.
You have probably figured out that I am in Houston and it’s after the storm. I’ve been through a number of storms and this one was nut a big deal compared to other storms like Ike. What different is that so many people are without power. Something is not right because my subdivision has underground utilities as do other subdivisions nearby. I have no power but they do.
There is something off with the way they are turning back up the electric grid. I don’t know what’s going on but it will become news soon.
The Macan is just another 4 door sedan that can’t compete in a market composed of other such vehicles.
To survive Porsche tried to enter the luxury commodity market and did not succeed with profitability.
Apprarantly either Audi made a mad one or EVs suck as sports cars.
If Porsche wanted to produce these models without the cyber vulnerabilities, all they need to do is remove the connectivity.
Don’t care Porsche is waaaaaay out of my price range and I heard they were crap and very expensive to repair
