"Porsche has already stopped building the Macan for European markets. Last year, the company announced that the compact luxury SUV would be discontinued as it no longer meets the European Union's cybersecurity standards. Porsche said updating the vehicle to current standards would prove too expensive, so it chose not to offer it instead. Once production of the gas-powered Macan ceases, the Zuffenhausen-based brand plans to focus on the Macan EV."That smells like bull squeeze. Flashing ROMs with new code to meet European cybersecurity standards is too expensive? Come on!
Who knew that Europe had implemented cybersecurity standards for vehicles? To what end? Probably just part of the EU's plan to hasten the end of ICE cars.

Methinks an EV would need a lot more cyber-protection than an ICE vehicle. So if its too expensive to do it for ICE, then how are they affording to do it for EV?
