EXCLUSIVE How conservatives could make it very hard for Democrats to replace Biden on the 2024 ballot if he has a disastrous debate or steps aside
Daily Mail ^ | 6/21/24 | Morgan Phillips

An influential Republican group is already prepping for a counter-fight should Democrats try to pull Joe Biden off the top of the ticket.

'Due to the rapid decline of President Biden, as seen by his bizarre episode at the G-7, The Oversight Project is taking the unprecedented step to release this draft,' said Mike Howell, Executive Director of The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project, in a statement.

'We are monitoring the calls from across the country for President Biden to step aside, either now or before the election, and have concluded that the process for substitution and withdrawal is very complicated. We will remain vigilant that appropriate election integrity procedures are followed.'

If Joe Biden were to withdraw at any point before the Democratic National Convention, it would be up to the delegates at the DNC to pick a new nominee. But from there, they can expect legal challenges from Republicans looking to prevent any other Democratic nominee from getting on the ballot in certain states.

The Heritage Oversight project has set their sights on three contentious swing states where they believe taking Biden off the Democratic ticket would not allow anyone else to replace him: Georgia, Nevada and Wisconsin.

Wisconsin does not allow withdrawal from the ballot for any reason besides death.

In Nevada, no changes can be made to the ballot after 5 p.m. on the fourth Friday in June of an election year or 'a nominee dies or is adjudicated insane or mentally incompetent.'

If Biden were to withdraw less than 60 days before the election Georgia his name will remain on the ballot but no votes will be counted.

In Texas, the two party's nominees have until the 74th day before the election to withdraw from the ballot. Some states, like South Carolina, do not allow candidates...

Dr. Jill sez - “Joe Biden is a healthy, wise, 81-year-old, ready and willing to get to work every day to make our future better,”.

May need a new FR pool on when Pedo Pete steps down.

They would be permitted to replace him up to their convention which is very late, but if they waited that long it would mean less time to mount a campaign. After the convention they would have a lot of difficulty replacing him with anyone other than Harris. One thing the GOP could do to make it hard on the Dems would be to nominate Tim Scott for VP. That would make it very difficult for the Dems to replace Biden with anyone other than Harris. And Harris would be suicide.

The FIRST STEP is telling Trump to back out of the first debate. If he does that, and given the Fox poll showing him (Biden) in the lead, the Dems will be CORNERED.

They could have started with the Rino DeWhino in Ohio. He buckled and saved their buttocks. A buffonish looking dolt if you look.

If Joe is too much of an embarrassment, they will kill him. Maybe make it look like a
natural death, maybe a spectacular staged assassination that can be pinned on Trump.

I'm suspect that Democrats are not going to try to replace Biden on the ticket.

It's just too late and too problematic.

What they can do is replace Kamala Harris with a new VP,- soon to be President (wink , wink) who would be more popular with Democrats.

Hillary or the Mooch would be the logical replacements with the Mooch being the front runner. Obama is already running Joe so why not make it official

It won't be surprising if Biden just drops dead during or immediately after the debate. That solves the Demwits' biggest problem.

I thought this was the “best Biden ever,” like Joe Scarborough said

I agree when you start from zero.

Whether it’s Biden, or a replacement...

it’s going to be Biden’s policies that ruined the nation.

Every single democrat backed everything that the Biden administration did....

so...

whatever the name and whatever the face or whatever the gender...

it’s just another Biden.

I’ll admit I thought SCOTUS was wrong when they said states could force electors to vote a particular way.

Why are people holding office of trust or profit for the USA forbidden from being electors if they can simply be forced to vote a particular way?

Bill Clinton was ineligible to be elector in 2016 for that very reason.

People-read the article. The part that has to do with Nevada. 4th Friday in June. After that he’s gotta be dead or ‘incompetent’. Who defines incompetent? The CNN debate is the day before so Trump’s gotta declare “He’s competent enough”. Think Hillary being likable enough-wanna bet?

Then there’s Wisconsin. Gotta be dead. Georgia-they got 60 days-doable.

If DeWine gave them an out in Ohio then the other GOP states will help out the rats. Gotta be fair right?

*What they can do is replace Kamala Harris with a new VP*
She’ll play. A SCOTUS appointment this summer is her one way out-save face.
And if she doesn’t play?

The stupid-ass republicans have gotta start saying she’s the problem not Biden. Starts with Trump at the debate-his disturb the excrement statement.

This is the point of having the debate earlier than ANY debate in history. And The Stable Genius™ fans and his merry band of incompetent backstabbers fell for it yet again. Instead of saying “Screw you, we debate 2 times in September and one in October, he gives them a chance to replace the weakest candidate in the history of candidates with someone stronger, and one that will make it impossible to defeat, with the cheating that will surely take place. I am really beginning to dislike Blump Chump Dump Trump, and I am beginning to despise all of you blind stupid ass kissers who find no fault in this fat dope’s ability to figure out even the most obvious.

Wow, please don't hold back like that, tell us how you really feel.

Minus the personal slurs, if possible, TY.

Silly Republicans........don’t they know that laws don’t apply to Democrats. Yes, the laws of various state’s may not allow a substitution for Biden, but that is not going to stop the Democratic Party and DNC from an electoral college Presidential Race attempted rigging.

As is sometimes famously attributed to Joseph Stalin, “The people who cast the votes don’t decide an election, the people who count the votes do.” And as we all know the final vote counting is done in early January by the electoral college.
