I think I read somewhere that its actually 87.42%.
There was this one in particular that I wrote about in past posts that tried to get me to hit him multiple times. I managed to miss him for years then he disappeared.
At that same time I saw in the local news that one managed to convince someone to run him over and thats when this particular character disappeared so Im pretty sure that story was about the same cyclist.
Up and down, back and forth through repetitive curves and ripples on small hills over a dark pebble littered country highway during rush hours. No understanding or a disregard of road position and a total lack of situational awareness. It was inevitable.
It was to the point that I would have thought that it was a suicide attempt except that Im sure that this was the individual that also occasionally appeared on the same roads walking a pack of dogs on long leashes also taking up that whole side of the road.
Definitely one of those that thinks the laws of man trump the laws of physics. I guess now he has eternity to consider reality.
more and more “cyclists” think they are God’s gift... the 2 “Men” should have whipped his fkn ass but good...
I find that to be bull$h1t. The vast majority of us cyclists say on your left, ring a bike bell, slow down when we’re approaching walkers, who are coming toward each other and generally behave ourselves. The assholes are in the tiny minority.
One gentleman gave me such a long lecture I decided to respond by asking what he wanted for me to do. He told me to just "hold her hand". I asked him to stick his hand up in the air and leave it there. He found out that was very uncomfortable.
That's my 18 month old grandson. He's off like a shot through any open door. Make me REAL nervous.
Well said.
You think bikes are bad try sharing trail with those nags. Shyt everywhere. Hoof destruction. I’ll share with bikes any day over those damned nags.
Put a toddler in overalls during that escape artist phase. The straps are quick, sociably acceptable handle to grab onto. You can hold onto the back bib to steady and steer.
My niece is now working in Japan rather then being a name on a stone so I count all the grief I got for using the leash totally worth it.
How rude of them. What jerks.
Good answer!
How do they know there’s a 3 year old until the kid sits in the trail? This is the point you keep fleeing from. Bike riders might not see your kid until it’s too late. That’s why the parent needs to be aware and not the kid turn into a road hazard.
Like I already said. Assume you and your kid are invisible. Assume a rider will not stop. Assume a rider will not swerve. If you make those 3 assumptions and you realize that means the kid would not be safe MOVE the damn kid to where they’re safe.
Because it’s not just bikes out. There’s also walkers doing just as crappy a job controlling their dog as you are your kid. Maybe horse riders that suck too. Not mention wild animals that could pose a direct threat or be distracting any and all of the above.
It’s not a walk in the mall. It’s a multi-use trail out in the wild. Don’t act like it’s a walk in mall. And don’t let your kid be a road hazard. Cause a 3 year old will lose that fight with literally everything out there. And then you’re watching your kid die. And sure whoever hit was probably legally in the wrong. Kid’s still dead.
Which is why you control your kid.
Spandex prevents your legs getting chafed.
Roughly $400-$500.
I like the way you think. Where did you look for the used Madone?
Just like when we were kids in the 60s.
When I was a kid I thought 10 miles was a forever-length ride.
Not as an adult.
I did 60 miles on a girl’s bike that was too small while in Junior High.
The child may have sat down in the middle of the trail. It looked like the trail was a straight path offering the biker plenty of time to slow down and stop if needed. The child could have been injured or suffering from some physical ailment and had to sit down. The biker had enough time to stop, ask what’s going on and realized it was the typical unpredictable things kids will do; even with the most skilled guardian.
