A woman who went missing in Indonesia was found dead inside the belly of a 20ft python.
Farida, 45, a mother of four, went missing on Thursday night while she was walking through woodlands to sell food at a market in central Indonesia’s Sulawesi province.
Her husband, Noni, 55, became suspicious after finding his wife’s belongings in the forest and spotting a 20ft-long python with a ballooned up belly. The man, identified along with his wife in local media only by one name, raised an alarm among the locals.
It is believed that the python bit her on her leg and coiled around her body to suffocate her before swallowing her whole.
The villagers caught the python and sliced open its belly and found the woman dead inside.
Suardi Rosi, head of the village of Kalempang where the family lived, said the husband looked for his wife in the forest area and “found her belongings... which made him suspicious”.
“The villagers then searched the area. They soon spotted a python with a large belly," Mr Rosi said.

Another poorly written news story that doesn’t note the height of the victim. Large constrictor snakes must be banned since they are killers, and yes I know this wasn’t a pet.
Snake gets bigger in the telling....
Coming soon to Florida.
I am surprised that it hasn’t happened already!...................
I want a snake import permit, or failing that a run across the southern border, with about 2 dozen of these 20 foot snakes released into DNC HQ in Washington should do the trick.Starve them for a few months first.
A few released at DOJ/FBI would also improve the environment there inside the weaponized jungle.
When the lefty radical dems create a jungle in Washington....the snakes will come.

The Indonesians can clear out their big pythons , we can use them in Washington, help them out a little over there by clearing out Sulawasi of them.
We have aplenty, in Florida, we don’t need theirs...................
Coming soon to Florida.

Raise the bounty until everyone needing some extra cash is out there hunting them — armed with chainsaws.
In case it helps you sleep at night, know that victims are not conscious while being swallowed.
You will however know that you're being "wrapped".
When done wrapping, the snake begins to constrict and the victim is unconscious within a couple seconds. This is because the constriction stops all blood circulation. In addition, constrictors do wait about a minute or so while wrapped which probably ensures there's no post squeeze awakening.
I saw a show once where they measured the pressure of a constrictor by putting a measuring cuff around a rabbit - 90 psi!
As beautiful the hides are, you would think that the market would solve the problem.
And the meat is edible.....................
Publicize recipes for python chili.
Thank you for the summary.
May I add that some of these large python snakes lubricate their dead constricted prey before swallowing them.
90 psi is a lot, three times the pressure carried in most automotive tires.

Adding, ‘Python’ to my list of reasons to always live ABOVE the Mason-Dixon Line! ;)
Yup, hence my exclamation point. For more perspective, if I measure the top of my foot from the front of the leg to the end of the toes, it's about 3x6 or 18 sq in.
So 90 psi there would be like having a 1620 lb rock on it, or over 3/4 ton.
I have read that Pythons are adapting to cold weather and are being found farther and farther north...................
Listen! It’s bad enough that Opossums are moving my way! We also have many, MANY of those ugly Turkey Vultures flying around in the sky stalking DEATH - there were none in Wisconsin when I was a kid.
But, I guess everything needs to live somewhere...
Agreed...If i was in Florida, I’d have the python skin superstore, with python mcnuggets for the kids for every yard of skin purchased.
“If a snake swallows a woman in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”
Awww, you can always come for a visit; just stay away from the beaches, stay away from the Everglades, and don’t go through Chicago on the way down here! 😊
LOL. I noticed that as well. Shark has grown 4 feet in the last 24 hours.
