'Any car company that’s not paying attention to them as a competitor is going to be lost when they hit their market. BYD’s entry into the U.S. market isn’t an if. It's a when....'
The car, launched last year by Chinese automaker BYD, sells for around $12,000 in China, but drives well and is put together with craftsmanship that rivals U.S.-made electric vehicles that cost three times as much. A shorter-range version costs under $10,000.

Uber Taxis for the money the College Deadbeats got back from the government for not paying for their College Participation Certificates.
Road pancake.
If it’s made in China it will dissolve like a alka- seltzer tablet in a rainstorm after a few years. China, the land where appearance is everything and substance is an afterthought.
CC
Obviously not based on supply and demand or the manufacturer going to make a profit
It’s Chinese government funded dumping to attempt to harm non-Chinese markets and industry.
And the Chicom EV’s catch fire and fall apart a lot.

I would have seen the 2nd one in 1984/1985.
EV is so failed. I wish there was a way to short it. It will be DOA in a decade unless invention intervenes.
Sink the ships.
There is no reason to allow this.
Hopefully people who don't vote to put a stop to this vile trade.
The sound system plays this everytime you pull into the garage.
Burn, baby, burn
Burn, baby, burn
Burn, baby, burn
Burn, baby, burn, burning
[Verse 1]
To my surprise, listen, two cars wide
People getting loose, y’all, getting down on the roof, do ya hear?
The junker was flaming, out of control
It was so entertaining when the Seagull started to explode, I heard somebody say
[Chorus]
(Burn, baby, burn) Garage inferno
(Burn, baby, burn) Burn the mother down
(Burn, baby, burn) Garage inferno, yeah
(Burn, baby, burn) Burn the mother down (Burning)
[Verse 2]
Battery Combustion (Ooh-ooh-ooh)
Came in the chain reaction (Burning)
I couldn’t get enough
‘Til it had to self-destruct (Ooh-ooh-ooh)
The heat was on (Burning)
Spreading to the house, mm
Everybody’s going strong (Ooh-ooh-ooh)
And that is when my spark got hot, I heard somebody say
[Chorus]
[Bridge]
Up above my head
I hear sirens in the air (I hear sirens)
That makes me know
There’s a BYD combusting somewhere

“Cue up Rush Limbaugh’s In A Yugo”
That’s funny, I don’t care who you are!
Why would LiFePO batteries catch fire?
Go ahead virtue signalers, buy your cheap EV. Don’t come crying when the battery lights your house on fire, and the car breaks down because its a Chinese PoC.
Same question to other ignoramuses on the thread.
The UAW is going to vote GOP?
I seem to recall the GOP being instrumental in:
preventing Tata Motors from coming here and for going after the Japanese for dumping minivans against Chrysler.
I noticed no change in voting habits or the UAW being an arm of the Democrat party.
This time may be different.
“...put together with craftsmanship that rivals U.S.-made electric vehicles...”
That ain’t saying much.
Plus, would anyone here drive or let a family member drive any piece of crap made in China? BYD are utter junk and deadly. Plenty of videos of them burning up on Chinese roads, crashes where no airbags deploy, etc ...
I remember the last tiny car the Chinese shipped here. It was called the Smart Car. There were quite a few on the streets for a year or two. After that, they seem to have vanished into thin air. Gee, I wonder why.

Folks found out what happens when you Far+ in a Smart car?
