Blocking newspaper trucks is NOT ‘peaceful protest’
NY Post ^ | 3/15/24 | Post Editorial Board

When anti-Israel activists swarmed the plant that prints The New York Times, The Post and other newspapers the other day, aiming to stop the papers’ distribution, cops passed on making arrests because this was supposedly “peaceful protest.”

No: It was a forceful attack on a private enterprise (on private property, too), and on the freedom of the press.

But city government refuses to protect the peace, and has even signed away its ability to restrain out-of-control “protest” mobs.

Heck, City Hall agreed to pay $13 million to “protesters” — nearly $10K per rioter — arrested during the looting, arson, and violence that followed the 2020 death of George Floyd.

So now we get uncontrolled “pro-Palestine” demonstrations, targeting everything from the Thanksgiving Day parade to Christmas services at St. Pat’s Cathedral, with periodic actions to close commuting chokepoints from Grand Central to city bridges and assaults on the press.

**SNIP**

These assaults will keep growing, in the name of cause after cause, unless and until City Hall stops preventing the NYPD from protecting the rule of law.

Why on Earth would they do that?

Have the illiterates in NYC government never heard the adage “You get more of what you pay for?”

Or is that their intent?

All sorts of apocalyptic language is sued by the press when protests affect their business. How much did the NY Post raise the alarm during the BLM and Antifa riots of 2020-2021?

The NYP is still owned by News Corp.

Nuff said.

I suspect the Post, which is as close to a Conservative publication as can be found in NY, was not very celebratory of the whole Blacks Looting Mercilessly summer of love. The Times on the other hand is beyond redemption.

The Rupert Murdoch owned NY Post complaining about the rule of law? That’s rich.

Note to all those cretins on the NY Post editorial board: look up the names of Chris Stirewalt and Arnon Mishkin.

The day is coming when Rupert Murdoch will have to answer for his treacherous malfeasance. ALL the Murdoch’s are going to get what’s coming to them. /spit

I believe the cops who were there that day rounded people up when they were protesting peacefully. That has never been the norm in NYC, so they felt they owed them something to make peace and maybe avoid a lawsuit.

I should think a couple good water cannons could have settled that “peaceful protest”. They seem to work pretty well when they are used.

The stupid runs deep in the average NYC voter. Even after all of this, do you really think it will move the needle more than 2 or 3 per cent?

The Left will proudly and explicitly state that they use protests and other means as part of THEIR First Amendment rights. They are making their opinion heard — by shutting up, and shutting down everyone else so that those people cannot get their hateful, racist views heard by anyone.

In my opinion, courts should come down on such views like a ton of bricks. Everyone should be heard. No one should be silenced. Using your “speech” specifically to silence opponents is bad stuff.

Panic....... Iran is in full panic mode and is looking at the death and total destruction of it’s surrogate Hamas. Iran is pulling out all the stops all over the world in a futile attempt to save Hamas and the whole surrogate charade.

In a last ditch gambit, Iran hasw taken on a new surrogate....... Russia. The loser Putin has joined up with Iran in hopes of survival.

It’s horrifying to think how many terrorists we have allowed into the nation. And we’re about to bring in another half million Palestinians from Gaza to join the ones already here. We are well and truly screwed.
