A woman rescued Rudy from the animal shelter days before he was to be euthanized, and the dog became her companion. For ten years, Rudy slept calmly beside Linda’s bed, but then he abruptly began to jump next to her and lick her face. Linda scolded him, but every night, Rudy repeated the behavior. “Soon he was jumping on my lap to lick my face every time I sat down,” Linda said.
As she was planning to take Rudy to obedience school, she began to consider how insistent Rudy was and how he always licked her in the same spot on her jaw. Sheepishly, Linda went to a doctor who found a microscopic tumor (bone cancer). The doctor told Linda that if she’d waited longer, it probably would’ve killed her. Linda had trusted Rudy’s instincts, and she was happy she did.
The Scriptures tell us repeatedly that trusting God leads to life and joy. “Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,” the psalmist says (40:4). Some translations make the point even starker: “Happy are those who make the Lord their trust” (v. 4 nrsv). Happy in the psalms communicates abundance—an erupting, effervescent joy.
When we trust God, the ultimate result is deep, genuine happiness. This trust may not come easily, and the results may not be everything we envision. But if we trust God, we’ll be so happy we did. .

Dear God, I want the kind of happiness that only You can bring. But it’s hard for me to trust. Will You help me?

In 1981, Marianne Bachmeier shot the murderer of her 7-year-old daughter. Klaus Grabowski, a 35-year-old butcher who had already sexually assaulted 2 girls previously.
Bachmeier pulled out a Beretta during his trial and emptied 7 bullets into Grabowski’s body, killing him instantly.
Marianne was sentenced for murder to 6 years in prison, of which she served 3, and was released for good behavior.

I am much better but very weak. I expect to be weak for some time now as any infection or fever initiates the complement cascade resulting in red cells being destroyed.
Wycliffe does NOT have a doctor. There has been a doctor here who had a husband who was a pilot. She thought I was a hypochondriac so she wouldn’t give viable recommendations to me. For example, once I thought I had broken my toe. She didn’t like the Atkins diet I was following, told me I had gout. No exam! Just a diagnosis based on her opinion. She would not write orders for an x-ray. The expat dentist was with us and said he had a portable x-ray. He would be happy to try it out on my toe.the toe was broken. Still, the doc refused to help align it and stabilize. To this day, it is misaligned and painful.still NOT gout.
All of that to say, I go to local doc when necessary.
At present it isn’t necessary. My symptoms are in line with something going through the area. It just takes me longer to get over things. I am not well yet. But definitely better.
I am not entering the lists this time.

Believe God gave us dogs to be a reflection of Himself. Loving, loyal, waiting to help.
Knowing what God’s will is is the hard part. I’ve seen people go off on crazy tangents, fully believing they were following God’s will. And then coming back and going in a different direction.
If I wait around until I’m absolutely sure what God wants me to do, I spend a lot of time doing nothing. LOL. I’m in that quandary right now. I thought I knew of a rescue I would work with and that didn’t work out so now I’m at loose ends. I think I will go learn Italian while I wait for direction

What a horrible doctor! She doesn’t even deserve the term.
I’m glad you’re not going to work because it sounds like she would do more harm than good. It’s good you have knowledge of your condition and can evaluate your options.
