Massive Stone Wall Built More Than 10,000 Years Ago Found Hidden Beneath the Baltic Sea

Researchers from the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research in Warnemünde report the discovery of an ancient, 10,000-year-old massive stone wall that has remained submerged beneath the Baltic Sea for millennia.

At nearly a kilometer in length, the Stone Age megastructure hidden beneath the waters of the Bay of Mecklenburg in Germany is not only one of the oldest man-made hunting structures in Europe but likely one of the oldest pieces of construction in the entire world.

"It was likely constructed by hunter–gatherer groups more than 10000 y ago and ultimately drowned during the Littorina transgression at 8500 y B.P.," the researchers explain in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. "Since then, it remained hidden at the seafloor, leading to a pristine preservation that will inspire research on the lifestyle and territorial development in the larger area."...

"The Baltic Sea basins, some of which only submerged in the mid-Holocene, preserve Stone Age structures that did not survive on land," they explain. "Yet, the discovery of these features is challenging and requires cross-disciplinary approaches between archeology and marine geosciences."...

As far as who actually built the massive stone wall, the team says that the location and construction methods unearthed during their aquatic studies indicate it was likely built by hunter-gatherer groups who "roamed the region" after the retreat of the Weichselian Ice Sheet over 10,000 years ago.

No, it’s not.

B.P. is for Before Present, which pertains to radiometric dating.

Okay, thanks, I am corrected.

I did know that it means “before present.”

Well that is more than a ship load of ballast. That is obviously an ancient moraine.

Thank you for those images.

Could be the edge of the Ice Sheet where it dropped all the rocks it picked up on its way south..................

Yep, that makes logical sense. A moraine. We see these all over on dry land left from past snowball earth periods when glaciers were everywhere.

People talk about the Bering Sea Land Bridge, but there was a ICE BRIDGE from Europe to North America as well. People could easily travel across to the Americas..................

It’s a natural formation, a moraine that marks the edge of the last Ice Sheet.................

“People talk about the Bering Sea Land Bridge, but there was a ICE BRIDGE from Europe to North America as well. People could easily travel across to the Americas..................”

Absolutely. And I personally believe a southern route of migration to South America was also completely viable during the same period if not before. If the Inuit can survive on polar ice sheets so could earlier man. There is all kinds of food and fresh water along the Antarctic ice sheet. The official narrative that early man was hydrophobic and could not float is totally ignorant.

The first Australian Aborigines crossed the Wallace line by boat almost 60 thousand years ago. And then from there to New Zealand by boat. Why would they stop there? The Antarctica sheet was even bigger then and the seas were lower making the land masses and island chains even closer together. The circumpolar current and prevailing winds would have been faster and just like a river running from the New Zealand island chain to the tip of South America. These would have literally carried them on a raft straight to South America in a matter of a couple weeks.

In fact... Living off the ice sheet they could have floated from Africa around the world to Australia and the tip of South America... The southern ocean current and westerly winds are a freeway around southern earth.

This is why they don’t talk much about the fact that one of the oldest digs in the Americas is Monte Verde not far from Tierra del Fuego on the tip of South America. “Not possible” because they were hydrophobic, too stupid to float, and could only grunt. Yet they had been in Australia for tens of thousands of years already. And they were already making rope in Europe and floating to islands in the Mediterranean.

A DNA study a few years ago showed that the natives of South America shared more with the people of Taiwan than any other group........

I completely believe it. Currents from that area also run over to South America.
