I don't care what FR neocons say
UK/US are officially bombing one of the poorest countries on Earth.
It's unconscionable.
I want peace. Enough.
I’m going to shut up now passions are running high on both sides
Alberta’s is making some very rational points.
Please listen
This is why presidents MUST come to Congress before authorizing military action like this so it can be properly debated... Is that too much to ask?

It is not too much to ask IF the US Constitution is still a viable document.
The U.S. Navy ships are only there to protect foreign shipping interests. Bring them home and let the countries that flag these other ships deal with it.
If you do, go ahead and post the data. If you have radar intercepts, or video, or whatever showing that the missile trajectories were not aimed at the US ships feel free to share them with us.
Which is exactly what is happening.
Our navy can sail where it wants to in international waters. If the Houthis don’t like it they can suffer the consequences of shooting at our ships.
I’m not the CIA with a billion dollar budget
It’s up to them to make the case to the Congress and your Rep
I don’t know you Mr. RandFan, so I’m going to be snarky:
Hamas didn’t care about the children and civilians that they raped, slaughtered and burned alive. Are you as passionate about the Jewish children as you seem to be for the Yemeni?
1. You have a bunch of great employees who worked for you for years.
2. One day, they all submit their resignations and go to work for several of your competitors. Your business suffers badly, you lose revenues, and they take away most of your best customers. Your 50-employee company is down to about 5 employees. You remain in business but you are basically bankrupt -- with $34 trillion of debt.
3. A few years later, several of those employees come down with major health issues that have nothing to do with you. They come back and tell you that their company insurance plans suck, they are running up medical bills, and they can't afford to pay them. They ask you to pay their medical bills for them.
The United States is apparently the only place in the world where it is normal and acceptable for you to take on the obligation of paying those bills -- and this Free Republic thread is filled with people who think this makes any sense at all.
What interests are at stake for the United States there?
I’m not the one questioning people’s Americanism if they support a certain Country
.
Where was it? Looking for it? I’m weary of all this like most. Our own countries are screwed and being run by the enemy. Why should I worry about enemies 4000 miles away?
I think you are referring to the UN’s UNCLOS. That is not so much a “Freedom of the Seas” treaty as it is a “Restriction of the Seas.”
Nothing changes the fact that they fired on our ships.
There are always unspeakable horrors on both sides & somewhere on the planet doesn’t mean we get involved in every conflict
Even IF they’re shooting at our servicemen
Or kidnapping our citizens
Unless you want to declare war everywhere ?
How absurd is that?
I agree. That doesn't mean it's a good idea -- or even rational by any objective measure -- to serve as a security force for someone else's ships.
We are $34 trillion in debt, and this thread is filled with people who think it's a good idea for this bankrupt country to use taxpayer money to provide security services to shipping companies that have gone out of their way to do business outside U.S. jurisdiction for years. Go figure. LOL.
Yup, you’re an isolationist. A hundred years ago, I would have been, as well. But we are not living a hundred years ago.
They have been ding it for mounths.
A reminder that al-Qaeda is still a stronghold in Yemen and is still a hotbed of terrorism activities, and Osama Bin Laden was there often. You’d be hard pressed to find a worse place on planet Earth, Iran is smuggling all kinds of weapons through there is just a beginning. The list is quite long on why it should be bulldozed into the sea as you can’t bomb it into the stone age since it’s already there by their own choice.
Doing.
