There are always unspeakable horrors on both sides & somewhere on the planet doesn’t mean we get involved in every conflict

Even IF they’re shooting at our servicemen

Or kidnapping our citizens

Unless you want to declare war everywhere ?

How absurd is that?

Mr. RandFan, I used to believe as you do. USA is not the world’s police and we should let others fight their own wars. But after seeing one too many Oct 7 video,
seeing the burned bodies, the bloody cribs, one pali, putting his thumb in a dead Israeli’s eyes (It went squish).

The horror was too much. The line was crossed. You may be dancing in the gray area. After Oct 7, there is no gray. There is good and there is evil. Which side are you on?

God willing, one day we can go back to desiring peace. For now, we all must choose a side. To not choose, is to side with evil. Because Goodness takes an effert.

Actually, the non-hidden-hand in the hostage taking of Americans in Israel (ham ass), the 170+ attacks on American forces in Iraq and Syria (shia militias) and the targeting of American Navy vessels (houthi) is exactly Iran.

All these peripheral attacks on us can only be permanently stopped by regime change in Iran. A nuke would do it cheaply, a la Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

But since we clearly haven’t the nerve, political will or public support for that, we get these comparatively niggling attacks.

Trump would have them on their heels and worried about his response (deterrence) so that the attacks would be minimized.

But really, there is no end to this civilizational struggle until one side or the other has their government destroyed the will of their people permanently broken so that they never wage war again.

I do not forsee this happening in my lifetime. So I buy ammo. The war will be coming here.

Was it absurd for us to go to war when our civilians and servicemen were shot at and bombed at Pearl Harbor?

I am not for being the worlds policemen or using the military to save private companie, ours or alliess (ie vietnam, for ex)

However, it is 100% reasonable for the military, wherever they are, to return fire on someone attacking them.

As an individual I claim that ability. For anyone, they will claim a right to return fire and defend themselves.

You are mixing up political military policies of an administration with the right to self protection/defense and the rules or warfare. No one is going to agree with you making such a big error.
