An Arizona man was shocked to find out that his wife was allegedly putting bleach into his daily coffee after he set up secret cameras to observe her behavior.
The unidentified U.S. airman from Tucson began to wonder why his coffee was tasting weird, so he tested the water in the coffee pot with pool chemical testing strips. It tested positive for chlorine, despite the tap water testing negative.
That's when he decided to investigate further.
He initially set up one camera that caught her putting something into the coffee maker, but when he went to police, they said it was unclear what she was putting into the water reservoir.
He then set up three cameras — one in the laundry room, another in the kitchen, and a third above the coffee maker — while he was stationed in Germany. The videos captured his wife, 39-year-old Melody Felicano Johnson, allegedly pouring bleach into the coffee maker.
The two were going through a divorce but were still living together with their child, according to court documents.
“He stated she knew that he would prep his coffee pot to be ready at night so that in the morning he just needed to turn it on to make his coffee,” read a criminal complaint. “At that time he stopped drinking the coffee but continued to pretend to drink it as he did not want to make a report of this while in Germany.”
The husband told police that he suspected she was trying to kill him in order to collect his death benefits.
Johnson was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree homicide, attempted aggravated assault, and adding poison to food or drink. She was booked at the Pima County Adult Detention Center and held on a bond of $250,000.
The woman claimed to investigators that her husband had sexually assaulted her during the time they lived overseas.
Here's a local news report about the shocking incident:

smart dude
100% correct
He should have dumped her long ago for being stupid? Bleach?
Channeled his 6th Sense.
In my opinion, that kid got what she deserved. Her mother was putting what looked like Pine-Sol in her soup, for crying out loud. As with bleach in this story, if the smell of pine in your food doesn’t tip you off that you shouldn’t eat it, well then… let the chips fall where they may. /s
LOL

A pessimist is a married optimist.
She has cleaner bowels than others LOL.
Glad she’s ok!
I knew it would be taken that way. As I recall, bleach was being used to clean the bathtubs. The cat became sick around the same time and I was asking if the bleach could have been a contributing factor.
In 74 we had a cook put mogas in the mashed potatoes, half the unit got sick. He got a Courts Martial and DD, after 7 years in Leavenworth.
