A homeowner stopped by to check on his suburban Atlanta property — only to be arrested for trespassing.
Days after the departure of a previous tenant, Tim Arko pulled into the driveway of his house in desirable Decatur, where he suddenly encountered a stranger waving a gun in his face.
“I just jumped the fence and ran. I didn’t know what else to do,” Arko told local channel WSB-TV.
“I didn’t walk in on a family eating dinner. I walked in on weapons, a prostitute, a bunch of dogs in the back, my fence broken down,” he told a reporter.
After dialing 911 to report the intrusion, Arko was astonished to find himself being arrested and taken into police custody.
“They told the police that I was a home invader and that it was their home. And so I ended up being arrested and detained,” Arko said.
Since then, Arko has been fighting to evict the alleged squatters in court.
Six months later, they are still living in Arko’s home.
Two people have died in the residence from overdoses during that time.
Code enforcement has even cited Arko for not properly maintaining the house he legally can’t access.
After lengthy court delays, an eviction order was finally signed.

Us peons can’t afford all round the clock security like our masters.
Neighbors would help watch, at least. Mine do.
Have a copy of the current title to the property— to show the police, and not be arrested on the word of slimeballs greasing up a nice property one owns. Word of advice. Also— enroll in at least the “notification service” offered by many counties— to inform you of anyone’s using your name for property transactions. It’s free and the search words ought to be your legal name, and/or named owner/corporation/trust... etc. You find out someone’s trying to take your titled property (not doing it by squatting, which then you have to evict w/ the sheriff), and you nullify the transaction and make the people doing it— criminals, which they are!
But the DOJ saved us from that.
They want to drive away people from being landlords.
If the Gambino family recognizes a business opportunity with branch offices across the US just begging for business- they could easily make a huge return.
As a homeowner; I wouldn’t hesitate. All I ask is when should my wife and I make reservations to be somewhere else.
How would one find this service that you describe? Thank you in advance for your response.
Disgrace.
Or SWAT them. Use a pay phone and claim your husband is barricaded inside with machine guns threatening to harm the family. Over the years I’ve seen what works and what fails.
You’ll find yourself paying MS13 about $5000 every month if you try that.
There is a property near me that I saw them get someone causing trouble out in a week. They work closely with the police. I'm sure money is buying that access somewhere? (Just like Mafia)
I thought just that, too. And the next month MS13 headquarters is now inside said house.
Obama must live next door.
I was going to stay with them for a couple of days and arrived early (they were still at work). I coded myself in, then I was unloading my luggage when security pulled up. They confirmed that my name matched the "guest" list they had been given.
Yes, they are nuts to live there, but the $350 is cheap compared to what these people are going through.
Possibly. That would show the world what fools they are
Then nobody would want to do business with them. The Italians are much smarter. Business is business. They do their job, word of mouth advertising. Landlords have repeat business opportunities. People on vacation have a means of ensuring their homes stay safe
Some areas of the country magically become “safe” in Dem areas.
Or you can stay in permanent victim mode. It is your choice
Don’t people do ‘House Sitting’ any more?...................

Hundreds of thousands of Southerners died trying to prevent this.
They need statues. Big ones.
My grandmother told my parents NOT to ask the local police to keep a watch on our home while we were on vacation or away. Very wise advice. The teenage kid down the street will gladly live there for $20 and leave some cheap beer in the refrigerator. Just enough to make him or her feel “Adultish”. (That was the 70’s)
Sounds like an organized entity.
RICO - Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations
Examples of crimes that may be alleged to be part of a pattern of racketeering activity include:
Organized, coordinated, and repeated or regular theft operations, including: pickpocketing, burglary, smash and grab, home invasion...

If authorities wanted to deal with this.....they would. But it's more lucrative to scare the crap out of homeowners, and sell products that "protect" home titles. The ones with commercials at three in the morning.
Oh those Oakland hills..
Interesting. I assume they convey a strong opinion…
