A Washington, D.C.-based sports radio host was fired on Saturday following comments he made about a female TV reporter who was covering the Washington Commanders.
Don Geronimo, whose real name is Michael Sorce, made the comments toward WUSA9 reporter Sharla McBride. The remarks led to the Commanders barring iHeartMedia – the parent company of WBIG Radio – from the team’s training camp facilities in Ashburn, Virginia, on Friday.
"Hey look, Barbie's here. Hi, Barbie girl," Geronimo shouted toward McBride while on air on Thursday. "I'm guessing she's a cheerleader."
Geronimo was with co-host Crash Young when the remarks were made. Later in the broadcast, Geronimo saw McBride again and mentioned that she was the woman Young had thought was "tight."
"Yah. I screamed tight when she was.…" Young said before being cut off.
Geronimo added that he thought she was a "cheerleader."

This is MY opinion so please don’t bash me. I have never liked females covering NFL football. I ‘m also not a fan of female sports commentators when covering men’s sports. I’m sure they’d never be hired if it wasn’t required. Also, when she’s old, she’s going to miss the compliments on her looks.

I think it’s probably the “tight” and “I thought she was a cheerleader” that did him in more than the Barbie. Remember part of the Redskins scandal was team management emailing around naked pictures of cheerleaders.
It’s probably the only sports team in the country that would need anything more than an apology. But this one needs to be so squeaky clean right now, they have to take hard stands and banish the Snyder taint. In the end this is a case of not reading the room. Which is terminal in any job.

No, such a woman would be on radio. I have nothing against women in sports broadcasting, but we have no reached the point where a woman is required in every broadcast and I do resent that.
They always strain to be gross , daring and funny.
If they succeed they get fired.

no matter the Snyder Era has been a disaster for the franchise. It’s sad in that Daniel Snyder truly loved the franchise but between hubris and arrogance he just couldn’t make it work. And as to why so many other owners seem to despise him - and not Irsay or the Fords - escapes me.
Her superpower is that she is a decorative female in a world of sweaty armpits and asscracks.
And, she probably have a pretty good accent as she reads from the script boards and teleprompters. But, a cheerleader is an athlete, which this woman clearly is not.

According to the parts of investigation that came out management used various ways to convince/ coerce cheerleaders to pose. Apparently it was all very Mad Men at the team facilities.
I think it’s the fact that it got so bad congress decided to get involved. That’s just too much bad press, not to mention risk to everybody else’s funny business.
Sports has been much less enjoyable since then.
